DD2 was like that. DD1 had much more wake time. I definitely called the doctor about DD2 sleeping 22-23 hours a day.

We had a sleepy baby too! Especially from about birth to two months, but even after that he couldn't have very long awake times. People talk about 90 minute wake times for babies, but mine was lucky to make it to 40. My mom was convinced something was wrong with him, as I had colic and was up crying all. the. time. But as long as she's eating/pooping/growing you're good.

Yup we had a sleepy baby. Who then became a very not sleepy baby during the day. (Not even grumpy just awake a lot!) Not sure where it'll go from here. I worried about it too, but it was just a phase.

My second was so sleepy for the first 8 weeks. Never woke up for more than 15min. Then she woke up to life and cried for the next 3 months straight (gas? reflux? colic? never figured it out) Enjoy the sleepy phase haha

@CatchAFallingStar: neither of mine were great sleepers at night but they could sometimes go longer stretches of sleep during the day and I would get worried and sometimes even wake them up (silly me)

@SweetiePie: @CatchAFallingStar: my little girl is 5 months old and was also 4 weeks early... she slept a lot, for a long time, and even when she started waking up more, some days she go back to basically being asleep all day when she was growing more or something. And now she’s still napping well during the day but at night she likes to wake up every 2 hours again! So enjoy it while it lasts. She’s still such a better sleeper than my son was. :)

Our babes are very close in age (mine was 6 weeks on Friday) and he still sleeps a ton. Not as much as the first 4 weeks (he was 4 weeks early as well). But I’d still say he’s only awake to eat and then maybe 15-20 mins after that. Otherwise he sleeps between every feeding. In his crib! So I joke that my 3.5yo’s life hasn’t even changed yet because he rarely sees him.

@CatchAFallingStar: enjoy it while it lasts! My first was also a terrible sleeper. My 2nd slept AAAALLL the time and, like you, I wondered if something was wrong! As long as she’s eating regularly and having normal diapers, I wouldn’t worry.

As long as she's eating I wouldn't fret. Both of my babies woke up more around 6 weeks so it may be fleeting!

My daughter is 5 1/2 weeks. I’m not complaining by any means, but she sleeps A LOT! She’s probably only awake 2-4 hours a day. Anyone else have babies that sleep/slept this much? Reason to call pediatrician? My first daughter was a horrible sleeper, so this is the polar opposite. It’s wonderful but also makes me nervous!
