She's currently eating solids twice a day. I'm not sure how much milk she's gettng since I'm breastfeeding. She would eat the whole jar if we let her, but then it cuts into her wnating to eat formula. She's eating 28-30 oz. of formula a day still. Shortly after we started (at 5 months), he was eating the whole jar. He makes the funniest sour face when he tastes something new, then spits it out. It's been an uphill battle so far with solids. He may not be ready yet for them at 6-7 months. He likes bananas in his mesh feeder. Mesh feeding has been a good start with him. A few bites when we first introduced it. She was never a big solids eater. At most she'd eat 1-2 ounces each meal until she was a year old. He ate half an average sized banana. He's BF, so I don't know how much milk he takes. A few days later I started with store bought purees, and he ate 1 120g jar in one sitting Now at 7 months he takes 2 jars (one at lunch and one at dinner) of 110 or 120 g each, which I think is 4 oz? I'm pretty sure that milk intake should stay the same until around 9 or 10 months when you start giving food before milk?? Someone please correct me if i'm wrong! I've always heard it that "food before 1 is just for fun" ETA: I think my dude is a little out of the ordinary. plently of my mama friends have trouble getting their babies to take more than a few teaspoons in one sitting. They'll get there eventually. So, I sat him in his highchair and ate my lasagna while I gave him some pureed peas:) He only ate half the jar (1st foods, earths best, 2.5 oz) Is this normal? What should I expect (quantity-wise) when starting solids? *other than how little he ate, he seems to LOVE eating:) ** he currently takes 28oz a day of formula as well. Should this change now that he's on purees?
