But, we knew going into it that we were buying a fixer upper so overall it is a great house. It only takes me 20 minutes to get to work (and half of that is just me walking to the train station). I love the location and the size. I'd change our lot so we had a back yard and I'd rearrange the main floor layout. But overall it's pretty perfect. The location is the best thing about it (we live in a popular city). We also did a good job of "making it our own" and put many personal touches on it which I love. However, it's too small and the layout is awkward, we don't have an off-street parking spot, and we can't even receive packages (the front door opens directly onto the sidewalk). I don't regret it though because it has been a great place to have a baby/toddler and we will make a killing when we sell. Of course there are things I wish it had, like a bathroom upstairs by the bedrooms and an attached garage but I can look beyond that stuff because I love the rest of it so much. It's so cozy and feels like home. </p>
