Wow! We pay about $850 per month for just me and my husband. It's a good plan but I can't believe how much it is. We are self employed so it's our best bet for a quality plan. We are in NJ. Self employment has a lot of perks but a few definite smacks in the face, haha!

$89 every paycheck (twice a month) for me and my husband. I think my deductible is $250 per person. Copay i think is $30. My friend at work that just had a baby said she only had to pay something like $300 for the whole ordeal when she gave birth? Not too sure what that means though, guess it's something I should look into for the future!

I don't pay anything and neither does my husband. I'm actually on his insurance as well as it didn't cost anything extra to add me, so I'm double covered. I never pay anything. I have a $200 deductible on mine and $100 on DH's. For all my maternity costs, I won't pay a dime. The billing lady at my OB's office told me I had beautiful insurance. haha I definitely feel lucky.

My employer pays our premiums 100%. I have a $20 physician copay and $50 specialist copay. Medication ranges from $10 to $50. I have to pay a $1,000 deductible toward my OB's global fee. I'm not sure yet if I have an additional deductible toward hospital fees, the language in the plan is "we pay for two days' hospital stay in the event of a vaginal delivery, three(?) days for C-section."

DH pays $61 every paycheck (every two weeks) but I'm not sure what his benefits are.

Once LO comes, I'm not sure what plan she will go on. It will cost me $176/paycheck to add her, not sure what DH's premium would be.

Mine is free through my work, my husband's is ~$50 each weekly paycheck, LO is $30 a month through a state funded program.

I don't mind mine since it's free and I think my portion of delivery charges came out to ~2K? My husband's suck. LOs pretty much everything is covered and can't complain for the price!

Mine $90 every 2 weeks. It is very high but its good insurance I didnt have to pay anything during my pregnancy after my initial $15 copay for my first OB visit. My hospital bill was over $20,000 but I onlyhave to pay $1200 because my copay is $300 per night. It used to be $150 a night but went up a month before LO was born!

I think mine is roughly 80 per paycheck for DH and I, but then I have to pay a "penalty" fee to have DH on it because he works full time and his employer offers insurance, but mine is a lot better so we pay the 100 per month extra to have DH on mine too

$70 something, 2x a month for DH, LO and I deducted from my paycheck. I have a 1000 annual out of pocket max per individual or $1500 for the family. Until we reach the cap, we have $15 co pays (no copay for prenatal visits, physicals or well visits), 10% for Lab and Diagnostics testing, and a $500 hospital admittance co pay.

Fortunately, my employer covers my health plan 100%, no money is deducted from my paycheck. We are pre-paying our OB doctor which is $875 for pre-natal care and L&D, and then we'll get separate bills from the hospital and any other doctors that provide services to us (anesthesiologist, etc.). I'm assuming we'll get these after the delivery, but the hospital might want pre-payment as well.

Either way, we have a 2k out of pocket maximum on my plan after the $500 deductible, so that will be the most we pay (and I'm assuming definitely will be paying).

We get insurance through DH for about $80/month fir our family. That includes dental and vision. We are blessed. $10 sick visit copay, $50 ER visit, and $10 prescriptions. All labs/imagings are paid for. Prenatal, physicals, and well child visits are included. I didn't have to pay a dime for labor and delivery. Having DH's insurance allows me the flexibility to work part time and change jobs/positions (3 times since I graduated/got married!)

It's about $860/month for me, husband, and kid. No additional charge for additional children if we have them. There is also a deductible of about $5800/year. Annual checkups are free.

When it was just me, I had no monthly premium (work covered it) and a deductible of about $2800/year. It was pretty sweet, since I am rarely sick, and up until early this year, my husband was on his own insurance.

I think mine is about $200/month for hubs and I. It'll go up to $280/month when we add LO. I think. It's taken right out of my paycheck so I don't really remember of the top of my head. Our plan is pretty good, but I don't know exactly how much my L&D costs will be. I know I looked at it during open enrollment to make sure I wanted to stick with my current plan and was happy with it, so...

Reading all the responses makes me super grateful about my insurance. Right now it's DH and I on my plan, and we don't have to contribute to payroll deductions. We have a $15 doctor co-pay, and the deductible is 450 for both and 675 for when LO gets here and it turns into the family plan. Since my deductible is already met for the year, with all the lab tests, we won't have to pay anything for the birth. We also get dental and vision. I know we are by far not the norm, and I have a feeling these numbers will increase next year, either the deductibles/copays, or just an employee contribution.

I get insurance through my work that covers both of us (since DH is self-employed). For the two of us it'll cost $262/month for medical alone (dental is separate) when the new plan year starts. When we switch to a family plan (hopefully :3) it'll be $331/month. That's for the premium plan, which gives us better coverage in case of an emergency. Right now our individual deductibles are $200/each, with an out of pocket maximum of $600 each excluding deductible. I THINK this means that as long as I don't straddle plan years, it'll cost me $800 out of pocket for maternity. Copays are $25 for a regular visit and $35 for a specialist.

Dollars go up significantly for "Non Preferred Care"...whatever that is! I think maybe out of network?

@mrs. bird: yeah, I love our plan. In CA insurance companies have to offer it, but the company doesn't have to buy it. Luckily ours does. Although I think we are almost maxed out from all the tests and two IUIs we did. But at least we know what worked so when we try for number two we know where to start and it shouldn't cost as much.

@bird I'm in Texas. I work for a "small" employer according to insurance group standards. We have some sickly people (think cancer, disabilities, etc) that are on the plan. The higher the claims are the higher the premiums go each year. The insurance company has to make $ somehow. We'll be changing to DH's insurance in a few months which is about the same price, but significantly better coverage.

I pay something like $35/month as my employee contribution for our family of 3. Up until this year I had no employee contribution, but this year they decided to add a small one. DH is on my insurance even though he could get insurance through his work b/c my employee contribution is so low.
