I just went back to work and I have been pumping 3 times a day. At 5:15 am (before LO wakes to feed) session I get about 7-8 oz. that's after 9 hours of not feeding or pumping. At the 10 and 3 sessions, I get around 4-5 oz total.

Wow, there's a lot of variety! Makes me feel much better :-) though I am envious of you 8-10 ounces per session people.

I only pump once a week to build a small stash. I pump one side and get 5-7 ounces.

@DillonLion: I'm lucky if I get 12 too! I try to pump at night but my LO won't stop nursing in the evening.

@JoJoGirl: the first day my LO went through 16 ounces. It was scary! She leveled off after the first week.

I pump on average 9-10oz in 3 sessions. Sigh.

I usually end up nursing twice before I leave for work, I pump about 3 hours later and get a combined total of between 5 and 8 ounces, pump about 3 more hours later and get between 4 and 6, and then if I do pump one more time I pump about the same (4-6). At home when I pump it is usually the same. I have not tried the golden hours of pumping overnight!! I feel like I dont pump a lot but maybe because I know people that can pump 6-8 ounces on one side every time!

I pump once a day to build a stash, and get anywhere from 1-7oz. It's ridiculous how much it varies. I'll be pumping 3x a day at work starting next week...we'll see how it goes!

I pump 6 times a day and pump anywhere from 36-42 oz. I don't eat oatmeal and I think I'm chronically dehydrated.....but I EP for my 7 week old who is drinking about 21-24 oz a day.

My friends who've taken fenugreek have had a lot of success with it. I have the tea and even though my LC told me it doesn't work, I always pump more 4-6 hours after drinking it. Always.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: my output is very similar to yours. usually 3-4 ounces per pump session. i have to pump 5x to get enough for her bottles the next day -- three 6oz bottles. sometimes i come up short and will give her three 5oz bottles. pumping is hard work!

I pump 3x/day and get anywhere from 12-16 oz. LO is 7 mos and I send 3 4 oz bottles to daycare now that he's pretty in to solids.

LO is about a week away from 10 months old and I now pump 2x at work (10AM and 3PM) and get 11-16 ounces. Most days it's exactly 12 which is what she takes at daycare. I currently nurse 1x overnight 2-4 AM, morning, and bedtime. She eats 2-3 meals of solids a day with some snacks.
Prior to cutting a session I pumped 3x daily and got between 14-18 ounces. She still took 12 oz at daycare and we nursed many times overnight as she was not STTN.

I EP for my twins. They're almost 8 months old and I currently pump 4 times a day and yield around 55-60 ounces a day. They each take 20-25 ounces a day, so I've been able to build up quite a stash.

At 10.5 mo pp I pump twice a day and get 20 oz., but I EP, so that is supplemented with solids and a bag of frozen milk. Last month I was pumping 16 oz. during my morning session, but sadly I think those days are long gone.

I pump once a day and get 3-4 ounces. Sometimes I'll get a fluke 6 or 8 ounces but its rare. I go back to work in 2.5 weeks so I'm trying to save as much as I can!

I'm on my second day back to work and seem to be pumping about 9 oz in my three pumping sessions at work. Sigh. I pump a side in the morning and/or before bed to make what I need for LO, right now 10.5 ounces. I'm hopeful that I'll start to produce more at work as I get used to pumping at those times.

I pump 3 times and I get 15-20oz, depending on the day. She gets 3 5oz bottles, and then the 4th bottle is formula, since most days I can't get the 20oz.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: Today is my first day EPing at work so I'm not sure yet, but I've pumped 11 oz in 3 sessions so far, while LO has eaten 14 oz in the same amount of time :( I'm hoping my production will increase once I get a little more sleep and get used to being back at work.

@edelweiss: That is awesome! Do you nurse too? the 13 ounces seems to be enough for her during the day because I think she gets a LOT in the morning and she'll often cluster feed before bed.

i pump 3x/day (2x at work and 1x before bed) and get about 16-18 oz total. this isn't enough to fill LO's daycare bottles so i add some formula to them.

i think i've maxed my output. for a week or so i added another pumping session at work and it didn't make a noticeable difference.

i was eating oatmeal every morning and i drink water like a fish. doesn't seem to increase my supply. i haven't tried the supplements because of the cost and i'm not convinced they work. i am okay supplementing with and possibly transitioning to formula.

i don't think your production is so little--it's wonderful that you're pumping and producing enough to give your LO any breastmilk. is it enough for her needs during the day? regardless, you should be proud!

I know there are other posts like this, but just thought I'd get an updated one started :). How much can you / do you pump at a time or throughout the day? I am not sure if what I'm getting is "normal". It feels low when I talk to some of my friends (but I think they are mini milk machines, because they have some crazy stories).

I feed her twice before I leave for work (2AM and 6AM) then:
7AM: 3 - 5 ounces
10:30AM: 3 - 4 ounces
1:00PM: 3 ounces
4:00PM: 2 - 3 ounces
Then I feed her 2 - 3 times more at night.

Essentially, I'm pumping 11 - 13 ounces in 4 pumps... seems so little...

How about you? Any advice? I've tried all the supplements, oatmeal, lactation cookies, etc.. but maybe not for long enough? None of them have seemed to help.
