I do my work clothes (delicate/low heat dry), DH's work clothes (fisherman with GROSS clothes that are never really clean), and P's clothes (since I use free and clear detergent for hers). Once we have our own washer/dryer I expect it will different. Most of the time I'm pretty lazy so most of our clothes just get thrown in together. I do separate loads for sheets and blankets, towels, kitchen towels/napkins, and cloth diapers. I hate sorting through a drum of wet laundry trying to make sure I've picked out all the hang dry stuff. Everything gets washed on the "cool" setting of the washer (just warm enough for the enzymes in the detergent to work most effectively).</p> <p>There are a few particular garments that get special treatment because they run like crazy and can't be trusted with white/light colors. </p> <p>I also run bedding and towels on a hot + bleach cycle any time enough things happen to pile up at once to make it practical; the rest of the time they just go in on cool as part of a mixed load. </p>
