Closer friends around $30-$50. I try to keep in mind the type of venue it is because parties can be so very costly around here.. usually the typical places are a minimum of $25 per child invited plus the cost of food for everyone. Even house parties add up with the rentals involved, food, activities. It's odd to me - especially for a classmate. </p> <p>If I felt like I needed to get a gift, it would likely be about $10-$15 of art/craft supplies. </p> <p>If it's a close friend, $30 is my limit. For classmates, DS picks out his favorite book and I buy it in bulk -- everyone gets a copy. Right now I have a bunch of Melissa and Doug stamp sets, Alex craft kits, spin art machines and memory games for the little kids.
