We are also either hot or cold here and DS wears very comfy cotton separates for the most part. Biggest expense is usually shoes. I think I've spent $10 total on DD3 only so she could have matching jammies with the big girls.<br /> DD1 on the other hand... I've spent $175 on clothes and $80 on shoes for the fall, not including winter coat and boots. I buy higher quality stuff so that in two and three years I'm not buying again for DD2 and DD3. DS has been at the stage where we can get 1-2 years out of tops but bottoms get replaced more quickly since he puts holes in the knees of every pair of pants. Last year's winter coats will still fit both LOs, so that's an expense we won't have this year. DD has grown a ton this year and will probably need almost an entire new fall/winter wardrobe, including winter boots. I exclusively shop sales though (except shoes) and try to keep their wardrobes to a minimum. We already have PJs and tennis shoes, so just new boots. </p> <p>DD2, I need to go through my clothes from DD1 for this season, I THINK because seh's so petite that i'll just have to fill in as needed and get her shoes/pjs (she can't wear one piece and I know that's what I had for DD1 at that age.) I shop lots of high end neighborhood sales (I just picked up a huge bag of barely worn Hanna and Tea at $4 a piece). I shop end of season clearance and still probably spend $150-$200 a kid including shoes but that should last most of the year.<br /> Now my teenage boy is a different story. Cross country gear is $200 at the very least, I am anticipating $500 for school clothes, and of course he'll have a growth spurt mid year. Lucky me. Lots of Under Armour, Nike, Ameeican Eagle, and Hurley in this house. I think maybe I've spent $50 on her apparent her entire life. I didn't have to start buying DD1 clothes until she was around 2 and even then it was supplemental. This summer was the first season I've ever had to stock her wardrobe. We hit the old navy sale and I spent $100 maybe? LO1 had a growth spurt though and will need all new stuff for this fall and winter. I imagine I will have to spend around $150-$200. She even needs pajamas, socks, shoes...so maybe I'm being too optimistic. LO2 won't need as much, probably just a few basics. </p>
