For his second bday, I bought him a toy airplane since he was into planes. It was less than $10. I didn't buy him anything for his first or third birthday. The kiddos get so much from relatives that we try to keep their gifts from us smaller. For her first birthday we got a learning tower, second was a balance bike, apparently I don't remember what we got for her third. We are already planning for a pedal bike for her fourth.
