@Bao: That's good you are planning ahead. I need to sort through her clothes and see what she needs for winter.

Right now, about $50. That's just supplemental to hand-me-downs and frivolous shopping though. We've been really fortunate with clothing! L is only 18 months, so I imagine it will start to increase as hand-me-down quantity and quality start dwindling :(

@Mrs. Lion: Yep! I figure we buy shoes twice a year, and eventually that will slow to once a year. I could probably squeak out another few months on these current pairs, but they are really shabby looking!

@locavore_mama: thanks for the tip, i am not subscribed!

I literally never pay full price for anything. So, either clearance or consignment. She just went up in shoe sizes, but I only anticipate needing boots for winter (snow and ugh type). I dress her in leggings and long sleeve shirts with a sweatshirt 90% of the time. I might get her a quarter zip fleece from LL Bean because they are thin and warm and last years doesn't fit. I expect to pay about $100+ for winter assuming she doesn't go up a size in the middle of the year like last year.

@Mrs. Lion: I prefer not to for shoes...it's the only thing I am really picky about. My son is almost 4, he's really hard on his shoes and most of the stuff in bigger sizes is also very worn out...it's part of the reason I think you see so much less variety in the bigger sizes!

I spend too much on clothes even though I only buy on sale. One of my favourite things to do is dress her. I have just finished her summer wardrobe in the gap/zara sales but still spent a lot of $. And summer stuff is just coming out here and it is so cute!! I am in trouble :(

We have 4 season weather, but I buy like we have 2 seasons, warm and cold. I do mostly play clothing and then have a few things for dressing up, which is really rare.

The killer for us is shoes, I buy two pairs of $35 sneakers at at time. This year, I am not doing boots, but need a waterproof, weather proof shoe and am struggling. I know those are going to be pricey, which kills me.

Trying to stay under $150 for fall and winter which around here goes from September to April!

I only shop on stupid clearance / sales new. And buy used off FB groups and HB classifieds.

LO 2 won't need much even though they're 4 months apart. Maybe a few special occasion stuff and a thickets one piece footed coat thing. What are those called?!

I thrift shop/consignment shop. Especially since she's so young I find that most of the baby clothes at thrift stores are in super good condition because most people's babies don't wear outfits many times before they outgrow them and even if they do, they don't move around enough to wear them out a whole lot.

Even once she's older, I think I'll do the same because I hate the idea of spending a bunch on clothes she's gonna get messy in, and I definitely want her to be able to get messy!

I'm not really sure. I just buy items as we need them, I don't usually buy a lot all at once. I also usually buy a size up in tops so we can get two winters out of them. The splurge is always winter boots. They have to be warm and waterproof, so they are expensive by default.

@sandy: that's true...their fall/winter clothes have to last a long time in our area! But at least it's less $$ for summer clothes (actually, for the past 4 weeks it's been too warm for LO's to even wear pajamas so we save there!)

When she was under a year it didn't cost much to get her clothes for a new season but as she gets older it definitely costs more to update her wardrobe. In the Seattle area it will definitely cost us more than $300 to get her ready for fall/winter bc that will be most of her clothes for the year...pretty much from October to May it's the same temperature so they can live in the same indoor clothes and just change to heavier or lighter jackets and shoes for outdoors.

We still have some gifts that my twins are growing into for fall, but I've also bought a stupid amount of clothes for them. Like way more than the highest amount in the poll. I've become a really bad middle of the night feedings online shopper. I'm sort of embarrassed by it. I assume as they get older (and sleep through the night, haha) I won't feel the need to buy all the things. At least I hope so. Need to work on my self control!

@JerricaBenton: last winter I think I definitely had to spend over $300- even sweaters that are on sale are expensive! And in MN he needed lots of sweaters- winter clothes are more expensive for sure so I don't think it's outrageous to spend that much.

I've been doing real good cause I got all secondhand for this fall! Mrs. train sold me loads of her sons clothes for an amazing price, and then I got a decent haul at once upon a child so I've spent about $100 total and he's pretty set I think. He just needs a few plain long sleeved tees that I might get from H&M and then a snowsuit. I saw some for cheap at once upon child so I'll stop there again in a couple months.

Probably between $100-$150, if that. H is a peanut and at 10 months can still squeeze into 6-9 month onesies. I shop at cheaper stores and buy secondhand. I will spend a bit of money on shoes once it gets colder.

She goes up in clothing so fast that I shop at cheaper places like Target and kohls. I'll even get her shoes at Target, or TJ maxx. I get one nice pair of shoes from Nordstrom that last her summer/fall but even her feet grow so fast! I try to catch sales and shop with coupons. I buy a lot from old navy too!

Maybe $150 for fall/winter and $150 on spring/summer

She went up a size in clothes and shoes, so we've had to buy everything. Plus, we moved to somewhere where the winners are worse, so we have no cold weather gear. I'd say less than $200? Not including a heavy coat and show stuff.

DS probably needs the most since he'll be starting school (and it's 5 days a week). We've spent around $300 so far. We'll probably spend another $60 on shoes and $100 for coats/hoodies.

DD can get by with less since she isn't in school and we SAH 2-3 days a week, so probably $200 for her plus $100 for coats? And probably $60 for shoes too.

DD2 has most of her sisters clothes but we'll probably add $100 worth to freshen up her stash.
