I felt like an idiot when he was 4 months old and just staring at me- now it's kind of natural, i.e. he hands me a book and I'll say "Oh, you want to read that inane Baby Giggles book for the hundredth time? That's great!" DH told me the other day that I speak to LO almost exclusively in questions. "Is that your bear?" "Can you turn the page for me?" "Can you hand me your car?" "Is it time to put your shoes on?" Can't wait till LO's first words are "Duh, mom. That's my ball. We've been over this." I started doing it with Olive and holy cow, what a huge difference it makes! Usually, I try to make an effort to make conversation with her or, at least, have her hear my voice but yesterday was a bad day and I just didn't feel like it. So essentially, the whole was was a quiet one. I wonder if other moms feel the same way. Is it EASY for you to talk to your LO (who is too little to respond)? I find it really hard...
