I think when I was looking I found the best prices on these cheaper models online from places like Walmart as opposed to Amazon. </p> <p>And yes, it wouldn't be crazy for a three year old to weigh almost (or over) 40 lbs....and not necessarily look that large. We originally had just the Cosco Scenera for DD1, but now handed that down to DD2 because she outgrew the infant bucket. For DD2 (4y), I got the Evenflo Chase. I'm also pregnant with LO3, so eventually we'll pass both of those down again, and I'll just get a booster (high-back or just regular, depending on age/size) for DD1.</p> <p>ETA: to answer your original question, my DD1 has always been around 50% for height and 30% for weight. She is currently 37lbs at 4.3y. That's 18th percentile for a girl her age. She's only gained maybe 3 pounds since this time last year, so for her, I'd expect that seat to last a LONG time.
