Until he was 4 months or so, he wore sleepers almost all the time. Didn't matter where we were going. They were warm, comfortable, and cute, so who cares? Now--X wants to choose what he wears (at 16 months, he cares!) so I let him choose one item, and try to build something that matches around that. It's not a battle worth fighting, if he wants to wear sweats and we're going to church, fine. If they're weather appropriate, it's ok. Except for Christmas, or other big days. I also lean toward things that are easy on/easy off because X likes to "help" and I like to encourage it. Plus, it makes diaper changes easier.
