I got my normal hourly rate from 30 minutes before they woke up to 30 minutes after they went to bed. And then a set amount for the overnight portion - I believe it was $75. I live in a very high COL area though where sitters make at least $20/hour normally. We would get an entire week to explore and have adult only time with friends. The only time I’ve spent away overnight from my kids was when I was in the hospital giving birth to our second daughter, so this sounds amazing. </p> <p>We don’t have grandparents we can just drop the kids off with. I think we’d have to hire a set of sisters who have babysat before. We usually pay one of them $10/hour, but we would probably need to hire both to take on something so long term. </p> <p>The babysitters are 18 and 19, and they’re very responsible. We trust them completely. They live at home and go to college, but they wouldn’t have any engagements during this time. Again, we usually just hire one of them to watch both kids for $10/hour for four or five hours, but of course this is different. </p> <p>The kids will be 3 and 6. They wake up at 8:00 am and go to sleep at 8:30 pm. The toddler will need help going to the potty. </p> <p>How much would you expect to pay for a full week of care, given these details? </p>
