I’m sure the daycare teachers all babysit on the side for someone, but we are strongly discouraged by the directors not to hire them.</p> <p>Ok, I went back to my top two picks with regular pay for awake hours and 1/2 pay for sleeping hours for the $12/hr sitter and 1/3 pay for the $15/hr sitter. </p> <p>@Mrs. Lion: I did have one sitter early on quote me something like $150 plus mileage. We otherwise pay $12 for someone not as familiar with her. In general it was regular rate for awake hours and half rate for asleep hours - unless the LO was still waking at night and then regular rate for all hours. </p> <p>Also it depended on sleeping arragements, most of the families I babysat for had an actual guest room but there were a couple where I stayed on the couch. Seems like around $50 or half their hourly rate for sleeping hours, plus hourly for awake hours. I am in the middle of making final decisions for a babysitter I found on Care.com. I have one more phone screen, but so far 3 for 3 had no idea what to charge me for an overnight care job. Their hourly rates were inconsistent $10-$15. We both agree a discounted rate or flat rate is warranted, but how much?</p> <p> They will actively have to watch LO for about 3 hours during the overnight position (2 hrs after daycare and then (rounding up) for a hour before dropping him off in the morning). LO STTN.</p> <p>The two sitters I am leaning towards are in their last year of college, have CPR and First Aid certification, at least one great review, worked in their church daycare and regular watch other children.</p> <p>What have you paid? What do you suggest? </p>
