@Anagram: That would explain the rise in poop over the past week then. H definitely pooped her outfit numerous times. Thank goodness we only have three days left! I'm also super glad that she doesn't have any signs of thrush right now.

Thank you for all of your suggestions! I don't have any banana baby food, but I'll send a banana to daycare tomorrow for her to eat with her breakfast.

I agree with previous posters that it's probably the antibiotics. Culturelle helped D when he had awful pooping problems from antibiotics. Also you can banana and pumpkin, which will help calm things down too.

I bet it's the antibiotics. As long as it's not totally liquid I wouldn't worry but I would do probiotics (we use Culturelle Kids) and the BRAT diet to see if you can help balance out her tummy. Hope the poop subsides!

@avivoca: amoxicilin can cause loose, runny stools. Same things happened to my LO when she had an ear infection--she ended up pooping her outfit at daycare every day.

@avivoca: I think it is most likely normal, just see how it goes. I am astonished at how much A poops sometimes. I actually asked his doctor and he said the amount they go is probably healthier than the amount that we go. Pretty much as soon as they take more food in whatever was in there gets pushed out, which makes sense. :)

@tlcbaby: mostly normal. One was looser, but still not super runny like when she was on straight breast milk.

When we started A on solids he started pooping all. the. time. Especially if she didn't have any poopy diapers yesterday, I wouldn't be worried yet. Even at 13 months, A still has days of 4 or 5 poopy diapers. I can't believe I am talking about poop so much now :) but is it normal looking even though there is more of it than normal? That could be a good indicator, too.

if it is a lot more than normal, then maybe call the ped. i would think it is related to the antibiotics she is on. antibiotics can mess up the digestive system, since it kills all bacteria, even the good ones that regulate the digestive system. maybe look into probiotics or try feeding her more yogurt to replenish the system?

Specifically, how much poop is too much? There has been so much thunder in H's pants today. She has had six poopy diapers since she woke up at 7:30 this morning. They are wet too.

She has been trying a few new foods. Dinner was chicken/apples and some of my pasta and meat sauce, and breakfast has been fruit and oatmeal. She's been pooping more than normal since last Monday, but had no dirty diapers yesterday. She has also gotten the hang of her straw cup and has been having water.

She is breastfed and nine months old. Any ideas? She's not cranky even though she's been refusing naps. Also, she is on Amoxil for an ear infection.
