DS is 14 months and gets 3, 5 oz sippy cups of whole milk a day at meal time. Sometimes he finishes, sometimes he doesn't. He gets water in between meals and in his crib.

DS will be 2 next month and gets three cups of milk a day. We give him a full cup (8oz) with meals. If he doesn't finish it, he's allowed to carry it around with him. He usually gets a cup of water between naptime and dinner. We don't allow him to have his cup in his room. It usually stays downstairs completely. I'd say he drinks between 18 and 24 oz of milk on any given day.

@MerryC: LO is 15 months now and drinks about 10 ounces during the week. On the weekends I don't really give her milk. Now that she is only getting iron once in the morning I might start giving her milk again at dinner time. But I'm afraid it might affect her table food intake.

We'll see.

Hmmm...I don't really keep track. We use the same cup throughout the day and I fill it up 2-3 times a day (but only maybe 1/2 to 3/4 full). Milk is offered at mealtimes and when he's at home all day, his cup is available if he wants it. He does drink 4-5oz before bed. We don't snuggle with it but he drinks it on his changepad while we are drying him after his bath. If traveling means that he gets to walk around with his drink, then yes, we travel :). Do I ever bring milk if we are out and about? Nope.

Daycare only offers milk at meals and water with snacks. He uses a straw cup that I provided.

He is 17 months.

LO is 2 and she drinks 3 cups a day. Breakfast, lunch, and bed time. The rest (dinner, snacks, and randomly when she's thirsty) is water. For breakfast and lunch she sits at the table with it, but bed time is snuggle time :)

Bump! I'm really interested in this too.

DS is fighting the bottle weaning but DD will drink her milk from a straw, sippy, whatever. Currently, at 12.5 months, we offer 8 oz after each meal. I'm trying to use non valved straws or sippys like take and toss. I sit and snuggle each one so they focus and so it's more like the bottle experience for now. But DD had her cup by herself just at my feet today and chugged it down. They drink 6-8 oz, 3x daily, so 18-24 oz total. Probably on the higher end than most but they were also big milk drinkers as infants.

They get water during the meal (their preference, from a t&t sippy), and as much as they want during the day from a bunch of different valved water bottles and straw cups that we keep staged around the house, car, etc.

Totally varies! At first he was at maybe 3 cups a day, now he's at 1-2 cups a day, depending on the day. (Now he's 2.5.) He has a sippy at home and can have his milk whenever he wants it, including meal times (sometimes he wants water instead). He is a pretty good eater/drinker and he is not overweight so the ped told us we didn't need to switch to 2% at age 2. For this reason I also don't limit him to certain times. For out and about, we buy little milk boxes we can toss in the diaper bag and which don't need refrigeration.

If your toddler is drinking milk in a cup now.

How much does s/he drink in a day?
Do you give it at meal / snack or other times?
Do you let them "travel" with it? Or do you snuggle at "bottle" times?

How does it work at daycare?
When do they/you give water?

How old are they?

Thanks!
