@allison: Yeah I started freezing mine flat as well. I have about 190 oz or so. So I am starting to wonder what I should do, keep storing or start donating etc...

@TurtleDoves: Yeah, the possibility of a supply drop does weigh on my mind. I would be devastated if that happened and I didn't have the milk that I had pumped! Maybe I will keep more... I guess I need to start freezing them flat.

If you have the space: keep as much as you have space for. I did what you did and have a tremendous amount by the time my son was 10w old (24 baggies of 6oz).
At 10w, I had hormonal issues and my supply dropped and I had to dig into my stash for some feedings. At 12w, I was living off my stash. My LO was able to make it to 4m old being bF because I had a stash. So, honestly, I'd keep it. Keep it if you have space an donate the rest. And hey! If you don't use it an it is approaching expiration (maybe 2w before expiration) then donate that too.

That is awesome that you're going to donate! I tried to donate some of my dairy-tainted pumped milk but can't get anyone to actually show up and get it (just lots of inquiries).

I personally am trying to stash a day's worth - so I think 60 oz would be fine. I wouldn't want to keep track of and cycle through more than that.

I've started pumping 1x a day to build a freezer stash in case of emergencies. I pump 5 oz a day, and I currently have 60 oz from the second 1/2 of April in the freezer. I'm planning to keep pumping because it doesn't take long and my supply is adjusted to it, but I don't have a deep freezer or really any need for so much extra milk because I'm a SAHM.

I'm planning to start donating through Human Milk 4 Human Babies, but I also want to keep some in the freezer for backup. How much should I keep? I was thinking I might pump for a month, then donate the previous month's supply? So would ~120 oz be a good emergency supply? Or would less be enough (60 oz?).

Just trying to figure it all out so I make sure my baby has enough on reserve without going overboard. I'd love to help out a mama who could really use the milk.
