From about 11.5 to about 13.5 months we sent the same amount of WCM as we had been sending formula in the same bottles, which was 2 4 oz bottles. She was drinking them about every 4 hours. Then they said they were trying to move everyone to cups so we sent 8 oz in an insulated straw cup. So, same amount, different delivery.

@Mrs. Pajamas: Oh, no! I'm sorry if I sounded defensive, I didn't think your response sounded critical. I think maybe I've just been feeling self-conscious about how long past his birthday he's been getting bottles...

Every time I see those 360 sip rim cups I think about what a great present they would be for my (extremely klutzy) ex-wife. :silly:

@lilyofthewest Sorry I didn't mean only sippy cups are the way to go. I actually never bought any for my daughter. She uses a munchkin 360 cup for milk and straw cups or a Camelbak eddy or an open cup for water (when supervised!). The 360 is pretty great except it took my LO a really long time to figure out how to use it. But now it's great since it's most like an open cup. Whatever you use will be fine! I just meant weaning off a bottle is important after a year.

@Mrs. Pajamas: He's got straw cups today...decided it was time to just pull the bandaid off. He's been drinking water out of a straw cup for months, but for some reason had a harder time with milk. The last few weeks I've been having Sweetie give milk in a straw cup and LO has been steadily more proficient/less messy.

We tried a sippy, but LO never got the hang of it at all. His bottles had a collapsing inner liner such that he didn't have to tilt back significantly to drink from them and he got so frustrated with the sippy spout only working tipped way back that we just moved on to straw cups. They are much more PIA to clean milk out of, but, at least LO doesn't just shout at them, shake them, and then throw them on the floor.

DD only goes half day... Starting at 12 months we just brought 1 sippy cup of WCM to be drank whenever. She drinks ~ 8 oz in the morning and ~ 8 oz at night so I don't really pay attention what she drinks during the day.

We send 6-8 ounces. She drinks almost none of it, but they need a certain amount in the cup to reasonably offer it to her.

I pumped until my daughter was about 15 months so she got 1 bottle (3-4 oz) breastmilk during the day and then nursed morning/night. I let her nanny offer her cow's milk as well but she didn't drink that much. She's now 19 months and doesn't get any breastmilk during the day but drinks about 4-8 oz of milk/day and still nurses morning/night. That is on the super low end of milk consumption for kids her age though from what I hear from other moms. What you're doing sounds great and good for you to keep pumping! It's not easy that's for sure. Your LO will do just fine if you transition to all cow's milk. Sippy cups are pretty important though for teeth.

They cut them pretty much straight to a sippy cup at a year and daycare provides the WCM.

It really was a cup of milk at breakfast, a cup of milk at lunch and then if needed water or milk with snack.

DD was on a straw cup (never took a bottle)
At 1 she had 3 ....4-5oz servings of WCM
1 with breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack!
She then had another 4-5 with dinner

She gets a12 oz cup of milk a day. I'm not a big fan of WCM and prefer her to get nutrition through food when possible.

My little guy is fourteen months and although he's still nursing I'm not sending any milk to preschool. On the days he's home Felix is still nursing before his midday nap and the lack of milk on other days doesn't seem to bother him.

Nothing.

Both my kids ate breakfast at home with a cup of milk, ate breakfast at daycare with water, lunch with water in daycare, afternoon snack with water in daycare and dinner at home with water and a cup of milk right after dinner or before bedtime.

At 13 months both still nursed mornings, LO1 also nursed evenings.

They were both late to the solids game but then took up on it like champs. Their daycare routine was as described above from 9.5/10 months on.

My LO is offered 2-3 oz of milk when she wakes, 6 oz at breakfast and lunch at daycare, and another 6 oz at home with dinner, so max 20 oz per day. She doesn't always finish it all, I'd guess she gets about 18 oz most days. Most pediatricians recommend a max of 24 oz, but with the goal closer to 16-20 oz. She fully transitioned to whole milk and cups right at 12 months.

My older broke bottles the week after she turned one, the other broke bottles at daycare at about 11 months. Daycare offers sippy cups (they supply) once bottle weaning is done. They are offered WCM at breakfast and lunch. Water for snacks and throughout the day.

DD just turned 14 months today. One month ago, she was getting two bottles of breastmilk at daycare, and we tapered that down to one bottle, then none. Our daycare doesn't put cow milk into bottles, only in sippy cups, and she had been getting as much as she was willing to take - I think three sippy cups of cow milk were/are offered per day?

She was not happy when we dropped the final breastmilk bottle but after a couple days she adjusted. Now we just nurse morning and night and she does cowmilk in sippy cups at daycare.

Around 1 year I started sending one sippie cup of wcm to daycare. (I think it's about 8 or 10 oz?) once she finishes that her teacher will fill it up with water the rest of the day. At home she tends to drink another sippie cup or cup and a half.

My LO doesn't go to daycare but he is 13 months and using straw cups. He drinks milk with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For snacks he has water or juice for constipation.

ETA: he doesn't nurse anymore so not sure how that factors in.

We switched to WCM during the day at 12 months and I nursed morning and night for a month or two. We ditched the bottles at 12 months. LO had been using straw cups with meals for several months and it wasn't a big deal to ditch the bottle.

My 13 month old is currently taking 3 bottles (trying to transition to straw cups) over the 9 hours we're apart on workdays. He also has breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

He gets three 4oz bottles: one breastmilk, one ~50/50 breastmilk/cow milk, one cow milk.

One of LO's similar-age classmates is still taking 4 bottles of formula, another gets two sippy cups of cow milk.
