You can also do the occasional (or often!) meal and snack time outside. I plan on doing that lots more this spring and summer. And do quicker meals - chicken salad, crockpot bbq, pasta salads, so we can play in the afternoon without having to come in to cook. </p> <p>I try to have the dishwasher unloaded and a load of wash in by the time breakfast is done. That way I can spend nap time folding laundry and cleaning up from lunch. So it doesn't solve the issue of keeping her away from the pool. I'm hoping to get a mesh removable fence around the pool perimeter but it probably won't happen this year!</p> <p>Maybe this weekend when DH is home we will clean up the backyard so we can start eating meals outside! :) I got to find my outdoor baby gear because currently dd2 hates the grass. Anywhere from 2-5+ hours now that it's nice. On days that he's at school, they usually go out once in the morning and once in the afternoon. DH picks him up, and they spend from the time he gets home almost until it's time for bed outside. I'll get home those days and make dinner...if it's nice outside, we eat outside often. We have a lovely patio out back with a table and chairs.</p> <p>On days that my dad or my FIL are here, he spends a ton of time outside. He gets up around 7 and they have breakfast and hang out until 10. They'll then head to the park that's within walking distance, come back in time for lunch at 12 and will again, eat outside on the patio. They stay out there until it's nap time at 1:30 and he'll sleep an hour or two depending on how much the morning wears him out, and they're right back outside right after nap. If its really nice and there's lots of stuff going on (we share 5 acres with DH'S family so if everybody is out, it can be a fun time sometimes) then we'll spend most of the day outside minus meals and her nap. I'm pretty proud to say that in the week that DD2 has been here, we've still managed to get the same amount of outside time. Someone's with the kids, other one switches the laundry. It takes like 5 minutes. We go out after DD2's morning nap and DD1's morning snack. Usually about an hour or so depending on how the morning went till we have to go in to make lunch. Then afternoon it's after nap and afternoon snack. Outside until we have to go back in to make dinner. </p>
