I get 6 week for a vaginal birth or 8 weeks for a c-section at 66% of whatever I made the last 3 months. So, I am planning on only taking about 8-9 weeks and using my week of vacation. I'm nervous about finances, but I know we will find a way to make it work!

52 weeks at 55% with the first two weeks being a waiting period... so 50 weeks technically. But since my leave application didn't go through until about 3 weeks after I was off, I'll have been off for a total of 55 weeks by the time I go back, if I go back there.

none :( I was unemployed when I had RJ, doing part time jobs which I just had to stop. For the next, if my current job situation doesn't change, I will have none again-- and no guarantee that my job will be held, since I'm a part time (32 hrs/week) contractor.

I get 8 weeks 100% paid maternity leave and can tack on any accrued unused vacation - so, I will have a total of 9 weeks fully paid. I can take up to 26 total weeks off, however. I plan to take about 18 weeks off, so it will be 1/2 paid and 1/2 unpaid.

3 months paid at 100% (6 weeks standard maternity leave + 6 weeks basic/supplemental short-term disability) I will hopefully have most of my vacation days/sick time to add on top of top of that to make it just short of 4 months... then I can take up to a year at 60-80% depending on the reason. I'll only be taking the 4 months spare medical reasons.

Also in Canada. My work also topped up my maternity leave for the first 6 weeks of my leave to 100%. I was quite grateful for that.

I get no paid maternity leave at my company. I will use PTO, which will get me to the short term disability that I am paying for out of each paycheck. That pays for 4 weeks, at 80% pay. After that, I have to use up all of my PTO again and then take unpaid leave. Blah.

I'm due in early October and I'm aiming to work through til mid-September. By the time I finish up, I'll have about four weeks of vacation time, fourteen weeks of parental leave paid for by the government (paid at about 60% of my salary) and if my Midwife puts me on bed rest any earlier I also have about 20 days of sick leave available.

I'm taking 13 weeks off (assuming baby arrives on her due date). 10 of those weeks are accrued sick time and vacation PTO. The extra weeks will be on my short-term disability plan at 70% pay. We don't get any "official" maternity leave beyond FMLA.

I work for a school system which has always given me really good benefits! I assumed maternity leave would be the same. However, I can have up to 12 weeks off - unpaid. Fortunately I will have enough sick & vacation time (fingers crossed) saved up to be able to take 8 of those weeks off paid. I'm unsure as to what I'll do after that. Was kind of disappointed until I see the number of women who get no maternity leave at all...should be criminal.

I should say that my work does offer up to 12 weeks at 90% pay after you've used your paid leave. Sweet deal if your work can tolerate you being gone for 12 weeks!

I'm not expecting, but good ole Uncle Sam does not provide paid maternity leave. The Family Medical Leave act allows three months maternity leave. However, if I want a paycheck, I have to use a combination of accrued sick and annual leave. I've been working for over six years and just accumulated enough time to cover maternity leave.

So much for great government benefits....

Wow - no benefits?
I had 14 weeks @ full pay, which I took as 28 weeks half pay. The govt parental leave scheme then kicked in - 18 weeks at the minimum wage, ummm I think about $500/week.

We can take 3 months paid or unpaid (depending on how much vacation/sick time you have). I'm taking the full 3 months--6 weeks of it is short-term disability (it would be 8 if I end up needing a C-section) and the rest is sick and vacation days--but I have plenty of time as I have 30 vacation days and 60 sick days :)

As an RN in New York i was only able to use accrued sick and vacation time while away. The rest was unpaid. With one hospital they let me stay home as long as 6 months before returning and with the other hospital, just 12 weeks. Story would be totally different in NJ or CA though as I believe those states pay 2/3 salary for some amount of time.
