In reality, I take very little vacation time b/c my job requires a huge research commitment that doesn't end when the semester ends. We try to take a week in the spring to go somewhere warm and beachy and two weeks in the summer to see our families in New England. In December, I'll move up to accruing 6 vacation hours per pay period (20 days per year).
