My kiddo is 6 wks and we give him 4 oz. per feeding. I felt comfortable with 4 oz. when our LC weighed him pre and post breastfeeding one session and he had gained 4 oz. Hope that helps ya.

Ask your pedi and they can calculate how much they should take depending on their weight. DS took 3 3 oz bottles at daycare for about 4 months and. 4 oz for two and then 5-6 at about 6-7 months on.

I agree with @lawbee11: My LO only usually has 3-4oz at a time and she's 8 months. At 6w mine wouldn't even take a bottle, but I doubt she would have had more than a couple ounces.

We did 3.5 oz until about 2 months, then 4oz until 4 months. We moved to 4.5 oz at that point. He's 5.5 months and still takes about 4.5oz.

I would aim for 3-4 oz/bottle. LO is almost 9 months old and I've never given her more than 5oz breastmilk in one sitting. Breast milk changes to suit your baby's needs as he/she gets older, so you shouldn't have to increase the intake.

When my LO started daycare (once per week) at 4 months we sent him with 4oz bottles of breastmil;k, which they gave about every 3 hours.. So at 6 weeks, maybe offer 3oz.? He did take 4oz per feeding for a while, then around 6 months we had to start supplimenting with formula and he eventually took 6 oz formula bottles every 3 hours..

I ep, and my 9 months old still takes 24-30 oz a day, depending on how well she eats solids that day. This is when she's having a good week, appetitie-wise.

She's sick a lot and on those days, she only eat 12-18 oz, which her doctor says is not enough.

At 6 weeks, he took between 3 and 4 oz at a time. I think at that point we weren't good at differentiating his different cries so there were definitely times that we fed him when be was just tired. He drank 30-35 oz of pumped milk at that age. He's stayed pretty consistent at total volume per day. But now that he sleeps for long stretches, he drinks higher volume per meal.

1 month 3 oz/bottle 30 oz total
2 months 4 oz/btl 30-35 oz total
3 months 4-5oz/btl 35 oz total
4months 5-6oz/btl 35 oz total
5 months 6oz/btl 35 oz total

We were giving 3.5oz at that point. He later upped the amount per bottle but the number of feeds got less so the overall amount of BM stayed about the same.

I'm also exclusively pumping, and Baby D gets about 3.5-4 oz bottles at a time, although I'm thinking 4 oz may be too much right now...he gets about 24-27 oz a day at 10 weeks.

I exclusively pump, and she gets 3.5-4 ounces each bottle. Babies average 25 oz a day, but that's an average of all babies. My LO is usually around 21 oz, unless she's in a growth spurt and it jumps to about 30 oz

We don't exclusively pump, but the amount of breastmilk we sent to daycare everyday stayed the same until about 9 months. Though after about 4.5 months, she had fewer bottles but more each feeding. For what it's worth, she is in daycare for 10 hours each day and I was sending her with 16-18 ounces...

When people go to work I read something that recommend 1 1/2 to 2 oz per hour away (or something close to that). So I would think the same thing only instead if away from the last feed.

We are doing about 2.75 oz. He gets his bottle right before bed and always falls asleep while eating. Then he sleeps his longest stretch of 4-4.5 hours. He eats every 2-2.5 hours during the day so I'm not sure if that makes a difference with the amount he takes in a bottle.

When I pump while he eats I usually get about 2.5 oz from one side so I figure that's about what he should getting in a bottle.

From 1 month to 5 months LO did four ounces of breastmilk every time she got a bottle. From 5 months to 6 months she upped it to 5 ounces per bottle. Then once we added solids she went back down to 4 ounces.

I pump every morning to build up a little stash. Usually before bed DH will give DS a bottle of pumped milk. I'm not sure how much is enough though. He is 6 weeks old. Things I've read online say that between 1 month - 6 months EBF babies eat the same amount, about 20-30 ounces per day depending on the baby.

So for those that bottle fed breast milk - did you find that to be true? The amount stayed the same until 6 months? And about how much did your babe take a day? I'm assuming if he eats 8 times a day I should be giving him about 3.5-4 ounces during a bottle feed.

Thanks! :)
