Monday through Friday, they get about 25 minutes in the morning before we all go our separate ways for the day. We may give them tablet time in the evening if they have been extra good, but chances are slim.

Saturday and Sunday, they get about 50 minutes in the morning. Then we may have movie night.

My kids are almost-5 and 3.

Weekdays they get none. They're barely in the house awake anyway. We leave for daycare at 6:40am and we're back in the house at 5:30pm, dinner, bath, bed.

Weekends I'm very lax. We try to get big chunks of time with no screentime. Otherwise we let them eat in front of the tv, we take the tablet with us when we're out and about.

When they're sick, all bets are off. TV and tablet all day every day.

So much right now.

It's so cold.. Baby sister is so new.. I'm hoping to get out of the house next week. It's so hard to be cooped up with a newborn and a toddler without turning on the TV. I try to make myself feel better by thinking the iPad apps are educational.

Too much. I'm a SAHM and in the Pacific NW, it's pretty much rain from October - May, so...

I personally don't watch much TV, so it's easy for me to keep it off. During the week, when it's just her & me, she probably watches a couple episodes of My Little Pony, Super Why, or Sofia the First while I'm cooking or trying to do housework. If I really have to get something done, I'll turn on Frozen or Lion King. I would say she probably gets about 2 hours during the weekday?

My husband likes to have the TV on as background noise, so on the weekends, it's usually turned on to football all day :P

During the week usually none, or maybe one evening he'll get 30 minutes of Classical Baby or a Jacques Pepin cooking show (don't ask) - he's with his nanny or at preschool during the week though - I'm sure there would be a lot more screen time if I was a SAHM!

Over the weekend the three of us will watch 30 minutes - 1 hour of Peppa Pig together. I love that show.

He gets about 45-minutes to an hour. He is 22 months.

Up to 45 minutes while I am cooking dinner, making lunches, cleaning up kitchen.

PLUS Random other short video clips on the phone (usually of himself!)

I know they say no TV under 2 but I just can't, and I refuse to feel guilty about it since I am a loving, nurturing, working full time mom who provides lots of educational experiences for my child (and healthy food!)

@Bao: My LO is in daycare most of the day, She's 18 months and right now, with my morning sickness she gets about an hour. I made a new rule with myself to not turn on the TV till 6 pm, so I can make dinner for LO. At 6:30 she eats in the kitchen, but I leave the TV on the Goodnight Show on Sprouts while she eats, so about an hour total right now.

Hopefully when I'm feeling better, I'll go back to interacting with her while I make dinner.

Pretty much none. He is only ten months old. We don't turn on the tv when he is awake. Sometimes he sees a computer or iPhone screen but he is not generally allowed to use either device.

It depends on the day usually, sometimes he gets none, sometimes he gets 1 30 min show usually MMC and some iPad time. During the worst weeks of my nausea/fatigue he was getting up to an hour, 1.5 hours some days.

It has been about 50 min-1hr. I'm trying to stick to 1 30 min show now tho. It's tough! Sahm in the NE in the winter= screen time is veeery tempting for both of us!

If she's home sick, I will let that TV be on all day if it keeps her resting/laying down and relaxed.

Normally she gets about 1 1/2 hours a day. I let her watch 20 minutes in the morning (while I finished getting ready/get lunches packed/ect.) and then she watches a little at daycare. We allow her one episode at night as well to help her unwind before we start bedtime routine.

Sadly weekends are a bit more since we are usually home all day, we are really working on doing other activities on weekends and during the night since she's becoming a couch potato and "demanding" her show on...not going to happen kiddo!

Way too much. I'm so tired when I get home from work we usually lay on the couch, snuggle and watch a show. Then she has to watch more while I cook dinner or I can't get anything prepared. Ugh!!! I just remembered I was supposed to put something in the crock pot this morning. Oh well :(

When LO is sick, all bets are off. I stayed home with him on Tuesday and we watched a lot of TV/movies, but all he wanted to do was lay on me.

Normally, we watch Sesame Street at night during the week and usually some Curious George/Daniel Tiger on weekend mornings. We sometimes have adult TV (news, Today show, or sports) on in front of him and he pays it no attention.

We've been watching something pretty much constantly for the past week due to being quarantined (flu) at home. Like you, my littles don't actually watch it all the time but they do like to pause in their play, listen, and watch. And I've been shifting to music about midmorning to try and offset my mom guilt. But at this point I call it survival. ;)

My son hasn't really gotten the concept of tablets/apps yet so we don't really deal with that. On a typical day he watches sesame street in the morning and maybe like an hour of TV or a movie at night. Sometimes he'll watch something "with" me in the afternoon but its not kids' TV.

Ugh, man! Since we have been sick and then I have been overly exhausted from us all being sick the screen time in this house has been through the roof. The past day or two I've made a point to only have music on throughout the afternoon but it's been hard. My ten month old doesn't watch TV but my toddler likes shows or movies on throughout the day. She doesn't sit and watch the whole thing through but it's usually on. Plus I let her play on my phone or tablet at times too. It's hard when we can't go outside or out and about because of weather, but I really need to work on this!

How much screen time do you let your LO have in a day, including TV, phones and tablets/computers.
