Right now, DS gets about 10 hours at night and no nap. He's 3.5. This is a problem, because he gets really tired by bedtime, but he does have low sleep needs overall. He's temporarily not in day care, where he takes 2 hour naps - he was more rested then, but bedtime was awful - an hour of jumping on the bed every night before he was tired enough to sleep!

Almost 4 and sleeps 11ish total -- 8p-7a, no nap. Every once in awhile she will nap if we have a particularly active day (skiing, swimming, tons of outdoor time) or if she is sick.

4.5 yr old does not nap and sleeps from 8-6:30, so 10.5 hour. He could definitely sleep more, but he's on the same schedule as my 7 year old so there's not much I can do. He seems ok though.

DS turned three in Dec. Sleeps 10-11 overnight during the week and sometimes up to 12 on the weekends. He still has naptime at daycare and home and falls asleep about 50% of the time. He's very strung out on no-nap days.

Ever since he turned 1, my son has slept a pretty sold 11-12 hours at night. He was taking daily 1.5-2 hour naps until 3.5. Now that he's 5, he still sleeps 11-12 hours at night and has an occasional weekend nap (2-3 hours).

She just turned 4.
On an average night, she's asleep at 8 (in bed for snuggles and stories at 730), and then awake 630-7. So 10.5 hours, 11 if I'm lucky?
Don't worry if she gets slightly less than whats recommended. Some people naturally don't need as much sleep!

This is such a hard topic for us. LO (turned 3 in Nobember) has never been a good nighttime sleeper but has mostly maintained a good nap...until just recently where it's all over the place. On a good night/day, he probably gets 12 hours but on a less good one, it's closer to 9-10 which is not enough for him. It's amazing the differences we see between 10 and 12 hours for LO.

@mediagirl: we went through several months of thinking dd could use her nap back, although it wasn't the same time right after she dropped her nap. So I started enforcing resting time. And I made bedtime earlier than it had been in awhile. She's now at 11 hours. Baby brother is about the same overnight. We put them both down between 7-730.

Not enough sleep, IMO, but I feel like LO has low sleep needs. She mostly doesn't nap at school and never naps at home. She sleeps about 10 hours a night. I wish it was more like 12 hours at night.
