I was having some issues getting him to sleep enough, since it's me and both kids home alone all day, but tracking his sleep has really helped. I use the BabyESP app on my Droid. I've been watching his patterns, and I noticed that if I don't get him down for a good nap in the morning, he'll hardly nap the rest of the day and ends up super fussy at night and takes forever to put down. I can rarely get her to take a nap of more than 1 hour, and I'm not sure I've ever seen her nap for 2 hours, so count yourself lucky on that front. Usually we spend the hours of 5-7 PM nursing and rocking on the couch b/c it's the only way to keep her reasonably calm during the evening. My last resort is to give her a bath in the evening b/c that always calms her down. Naps during the day is also short bc he eats every two hours. I am lucky if he naps 30 minutes during the day time. I'm not entirely sure how many hours she gets but 11-12 sounds about right.
