This sounds pretty close to what we're doing... He's nursing 3-4x a day, and usually getting two 4oz bottles of breast milk too.... He usually has a lunch: 3-4oz of oatmeal/yogurt/fruit puree -- then an afternoon meal of a similar, oatmeal + formula and a jar of food... Then at night he'll get one more puree, usually one jar or pouch.

Same with the table foods --- even thicker or chunky purees he's still gagging on a ton.

@hilsy85: My babies have a bottle and purees 4 times a day now at 9 months old or 7.5 months adjusted age.

They love purees, so much that we've seen them go from 7oz of formula at each feeding to now 3 oz. Like last week when we were still giving them 7oz at each feeding, they would barely get through their bottles but as soon as they saw the solids, they would get really happy and very eager in eating the solids. Our schedule is oatmeal at the first feeding, then a vegetable or protein at the second feeding, then yogurt at 4th feeding and a fruit for the last feeding. I buy pureed food because I don't have time to make it so they get 1-2 packs (between the two of them) at each serving (I think each pack is one serving according the Gerber.) Oh, the gerber stage 2 food contains 4 oz in each pack.

Oh, DS is the one that will still be hungry after his first pack. So I usually have to give him 1.5 packs depending upon what I'm feeding him. He loves oatmeal and they both love their vegetable/meat. For the meal with just fruit, they usually just share 1 pack.

I am thinking that them loving purees will make things harder when we go to finger foods. So I'm introducing cubed sweet potato now. I probably should have started the sweet potato earlier but I was waiting for them to sit unassisted (which they are now).

DD is 8 months old and I feel like she eats a LOT of pureed food. For breakfast, she will usually have 4oz of pureed fruit mixed with 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt. Lunch and dinner are usually 4, or sometimes 8 (!) oz of purees--usually 1 or 2 pouches. I've been hesitant to do more real foods because she has been gagging on them, and we also don't have a high chair right now so that's made it difficult. Does this sound like too much? Or is within normal range? Not sure how much breastmilk she is getting but she nurses maybe 5x a day.
