I am currently 31.5 weeks pregnant, so right now it's about 4 hours a week.
Before getting pregnant, it was about 6-7 hours a week.

I answered 4-6 hours/week. I do strength training at home and then run 3 days a week. I typically run early morning or after kids go to bed. Sometimes I do it at a park with a big lap and the kids ride their bikes so it's .25 mile lap, play at the park for 5 minutes, another lap, play at the park....My workout videos they'll do with me sometimes/crawl on top of me. It really helps me mentally so it's worth the time investment for me.

When I'm being my best self, I do 3 hours of classes (1 hour of each of yoga, HIIT, and speed/agility), and 3 runs (these are in the process of getting longer, but are currently a total of about 1.5 -2 hours). Reality is probably more like 3-4 hours, because for one reason or another I usually miss one class per week.

I don't. Zero zilch nada. And I hate it, but the way my schedule goes, the only time I could do it would be in the evenings because I already get up at 5:30 to get to work and I couldn't do any earlier if I wanted to function. And in the evenings it's the only time I have with my kid and my husband gets pretty grumpy if I'm not around (though he denies it, but every time I've tried starting a routine he's gotten pissy about it). So I resign myself to the walks I have on my commute and occasionally doing something active on weekends. I'm not sure how to make it work right now, though I'd love to because I love exercise.

I just recently got back to it. It's been 6 yrs since i worked out regularly but DS just started sleeping through the night so I have started jogging 3x a week. I'm building up so i started at half a mile, then 1 mile and now i am now at 2 miles 3 times a week. I plan to get to 3 miles and then i might change it up. I am also not sure if i can keep it up during winter. My friends have told me i can but i'm not sure....

I do 1 hr a week (2 half hour sessions) of HIIT personal training. I started 2 1/2 months ago after never really working out ever although I am active as a former kindergarten teacher for 12 year ( hello, second grade!) and a 4 year old. I can not believe how great I feel with just that little bit (not during - I hate it during!) I am amazed at how long the "after glow" lasts.

I started working out this summer for the first time really since my wedding 6 years ago, 2 kids later. I was off since I’m a teacher so now that I’m back at work the real challenge keeping it up has begun. So far I’ve been able to swim after work (if I leave immediately) 2 days a week. Then I’m trying to do one run during the week and one on the weekend. It is definitely helping my mental health and I feel less tired, worn out and more patient at night than i do when I’m not working out.

@crazydoglady: at my physical earlier this year, my doctor told me I should be getting at least 30 minutes of exercise 5-6 times a week. It could be anything that raises my heart rate into the fat burn zone. So playing at the park with my kids counts as long as I'm moving - climbing, running, etc.

On a good week, I spend 2 hours on the weekend, 4 hours on the weekdays. Plus all the other incidental speed walking I have to do to get to work on time. I'd like to take more classes or motivate myself to do a bit more strength training or abs on the weeknight but... someone has to do the laundry and dishes and make lunches and eventually sleep.

@crazydoglady: It’s the general guidelines, kind of like the dietary guidelines. Basically the bare minimum of what you should do to help not develop overweight/obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc. If you look at the guidelines you can see the breakdown of what types of activities are included.

My doctor said 150 minutes a week is the minimum for adults. I think I usually get around 200 minutes a week (little more than 3 hours) and that feels like a lot to me and I'm pretty proud of myself for working up to that much. And that's just working out in my basement, I can't imagine how long it would take if I were adding on commute to/from the gym.

I workout at home about 5 days per week for 30-60 mins at a time. I typically do this after kids’ bedtime but I’m on maternity leave currently so I workout during the DD2’s first nap.

I will say that this thread has got me thinking about getting back into yoga. I would totally do the gym, but I am not crazy about their childcare for babies. Plus, I am not a huge gym person. A hot yoga place opened in town and I can totally see myself getting into that again.

Around 4 hours. I WFH full time, go to Orange Theory once a week, and run/lift weights at home 3-4 other days for 30-40 min. I’d probably do more in a perfect world because I love it but it’s enough to maintain my fitness and my sanity. I rarely feel guilty because it’s my mental health break!

My husband and I go to the gym together 5-6 times a week. I sah so it's a nice break for me (and my older loves the childcare and the baby is always happy when picked up so I feel good about leaving them there).
I do feel a little bad that my husband doesn't get to see the kids as much since we've gone back to the gym but 3 mornings he hangs with them before work.

I feel so much better getting back into shape. Its helped my mental health so much and will hopefully get me back to my much lighter pre pregnancy weight. We've also gone back to eating Paleo the last week and I'm finally under 170 so I'm super excited (but I miss bread and cheese so much!)

I walk 45 min a day. I stay at home now, so I bring baby with, but when I worked outside the home, I would eat lunch quickly at my desk and walk over my lunch break, and take a 10 minute break in the afternoon to take another quick walk. I do wish I could go to a gym to get a more intense workout but that just doesn’t fit for our lifestyle at this point.

For the past few years Ive tried to make it to the gym twice during the week. I recently found this app called SWEAT and I love it. The workouts are about 30 minutes Very intense but many of their programs are at home. So I’m
Making to the gym less but I’m actually working out more and doing more resistance training. I highly recommend it. I would say I’m working out between 3 and 4 hours a week now. I work in education so I try to work out at 4. It’s hard to prioritize but my body hurts more and I’m less happy when I don’t work out. I will never be a morning work out person.

I run pretty regularly, 4-5x a week from April - November (when the roads aren’t snowy/icy). I usually do a half marathon in the fall so I have something to build up to. I hate running on the treadmill so my winter fitness is pretty pathetic. I will walk on our treadmill or do the 7 minute workout but that’s pretty much it.

Childcare at the gym has been a lifesaver for me. My kid likes it and gets to play with different toys and kids. I try to go at least 3 times a week (occasionally 4 but that doesn’t really happen). I have 90 min of. Childcare so exercise for an hour then shower. But I SAH so that’s just part of our morning activities when my younger one doesn’t have school then we usually go one day on the weekend with both kids.

As a sahm sometimes the alone time with provided childcare for them is more important than the exercise, but the exercise is good too!

I prioritize exercise and never feel guilty about working out, about an hour 4-5 days a week. It makes me a better mom and wife. I run 5-7 miles, spin, lift, swim, hike (with the kids so that's fun), and insanity classes where I see ladies I know. I like going to the Y and seeing people. I feel guilty about going to Target but never about going to the gym!

I workout at home 5 or 6 times a week for 30-40 minutes each time. DD actually enjoys the workouts so I do about half of them with her - she does the moves for the majority of the time but will also just sit and read or chat with me if she gets bored. For the other workouts I either get up before her or do them after her bedtime. DH and I workout together whenever possible, probably 3 or 4 times a week depending on his schedule. So while I spend 3ish hours a week working out it's not all taking away from family time.

I very recently have been trying to get back into a regular workout routine after years of doing basically nothing. Right now I go to a hot yoga class one night a week then work out at home 3-4 times a week but not usually more than 30 minutes. I hate working out at home. And working out in general but I don’t think I’d be able to get a gym frequently enough to make it worth the cost.

I'm WAY off after a busy summer and vacation, but trying to get back into a routine... I always go to a 1-hr Barre class one night a week, and I do this with a group of mom friends so sometimes we go out for a cocktail after (ha!)...

Then I realistically try to get to my gym at least 2-3 other days a week. Even if I just go and walk on the treadmill for 25 minutes and do some light weightlifting, I feel good! This also doubles as "me time" - as on the treadmill i can catch up on a show. There are also some other classes I like to do. Classes are KEY for me as i get a better workout, and if I sign up in advance I HAVE to go as I get penalized for backing out too close to the class.

About 6 months ago I took up running again. I try to go 3-4 times a week, for 30-60 minutes. I usually go after the kids are in bed even though I prefer the mornings, but it’s getting harder now that it’s getting dark out earlier. I might have to start going to the gym, but I really don’t like the treadmill.
