He works long hours at a high stress job so I can stay home. He is home most of the weekends and I send him photos during the day. His old jobs would have been much worse, I'm glad he took a lower paying job in exchange for more family time.</p> <p>He works early mornings to mid-late afternoons, so he usually takes him for boys time or to the gym once he gets home. Once a week all day when I work, and usually one other weekday we are home together along with Sundays. He does bedtimes on nights I work and when I'm too tired. Then, in the evenings, he has an hour and a quarter of potential time with her before she needs to go bed. I SAH but I worked (very briefly..there were red flags at the job) and it was hard because we didn't even have the same work "week" and alternated days with dd and I just knew it wouldn't work long term. I'm not sure what we're going to do this summer/fall because I'll be working (for family though!) and he will be still on the weird schedules. If he starts at 930am then he goes to the gym in the morning so he can see her after he's home. It really bothers me that he chooses to go to the gym rather than see DD. He says it's because he works a high stress job and needs to vent out his stress. I think that family should be his focus. It's caused more than one fight between us. Depending what time she wakes up he will spend maybe 10-20 minutes with her before he brings her to me to feed her- he's studying for an exam and will read study materials to her :) </p> <p>In the evenings it's not much, half hour on a good night, none other nights. I think her bedtime needs to move earlier which will mean he doesn't see her a lot of nights, but it's his choice some nights since he goes to the gym. He works on the weekends a lot of the time too, so he doesn't even get a lot of full days right now. At least a couple times a week he will get up with him in the morning for an hour or so and then I can sleep in and they get boy time. </p> <p>When I go back to work he will get more time during the week as he will be picking up from daycare 1-2 hours before I get home. By the time I get home it will be dinner and bed.
