From what I was told by LCs, 2-3 oz at that age is totally great. I was multiplying her weight by 2.5 to determine daily oz needed (dividing by total number of daily feeds - for me it was about 8-10).

Example: say they weigh 8 lbs. 8 x 2.5 = 20. If you were doing 8 feeds, that's 2.5 oz per feeding.

Of course, this is just math - some babies may want more or less at feedings but this is what I tried to aim for :)

@Sh430: I EP'd for the first few weeks due to latch issues and we did 2 1/2 oz bottles starting at two weeks, then 3 oz at a month. It is really more weight dependent than age. How much does LO weigh?

And that is a great supply! I pumped 35+ oz a day but I did 9 pumps of 15 min each. We are back to nursing now though so I can't tell you about long term supply.

LO is 4 weeks adjusted and eats 2-4 ounces every 2-4 hours. I'm getting right around 30 ounces, but if I pump that few times I leak everywhere. And I've been pumping for 11 weeks.

Hi there! I'm new to hellobee and hoping to get some advice about EP. My baby (#2) is 4 weeks old and I've been EP since week 1. I had a horrible experience bfing my first baby and turned to EP when she was about 8 weeks. I never EP with baby #1 so early on, so I feel a bit lost. I'm wondering if 3 ounces sounds like enough for a feed. Baby usually feeds every 2-3 hours but the past couple of nights, she's been having at least one 1.5 hour spacing which is driving me nuts. I'm also pumping only 4 times a day and I get about 32 ounces. I had oversupply with baby #1 also and got by with 3 pumps a day for her. Has anyone had this experience too, where you have a good supply early on? I'm hoping it'll stay constant as baby gets bigger but there are so many unknowns in the land of EP. Any tips also for increasing the time between her night feeds would be greatly appreciated.
