My stuff arrived rather quickly on the way back, faster than the quoted time.

We had 9 suitcases worth of clothing, it was fine, but what I wasn't prepared for was the fact that I was actually returning to work...but that wasn't in the plan when we left! I did A LOT of shopping those first weeks.

We did this. And I know the climate you are moving to very well. I would take 2ish weeks worth of clothes with mostly warmer weather outfits, maybe 5 of her favorite toys, 10 books and any lovey or favorite blanky or whatever. Take a variety of shoes and a light jacket. I suppose you could always buy whatever is missing if you have the budget.

I would be least worried about the clothes. Like other have said I think a 10 day supply plus some special outfits (junky play clothes and nicer going out clothes) will be fine.

I would be more worried about things like sippies and cups and bowls etc. Any special items that she may need to feel comfortable and "at home".

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @ShootingStar: Yes. We'll have access to laundry.

@locavore_mama: Yes, mostly. Clothes/shoes/etc, her blanket, maybe a couple favorite books, her straw cups... that kind of stuff.

I assume you'll have access to laundry? I'd pack a week to 10 days worth of stuff and wash once a week or so. So a few pairs of pants, a few short sleeve shirts, a couple long sleeve, a jacket, a couple sweaters or hoodies, one or 2 pairs of shoes, and a couple pairs of pajamas. Maybe some skirts too in case it's warm enough? IDK, I have a boy, lol.

You're staying with your mom right? So the only thing to worry about is clothes?

Assuming your have access to doing laundry? I'd take two weeks worth of clothes. That's enough for changing twice a day (allowing for things like spilling something on her clothes) but also enough that you aren't doing laundry every 3 days.

I'd take two pairs of sandals, one pair of boots & a pair of tennis shoes.

We have a week-ish left in our house before the movers come to pack us out. With current shipping times, we have approximately 45 days from the day they pack us out until our first small shipment comes. 45 days is a rough estimate. When we moved here, our smaller "fast" shipment arrived a full week after our large "slow" shipment. We were without anything but what we flew with for 2 full months. Because of our situation, we get to take a LOT of bags with us on the plane for free, like 10ish.

Im trying to decide what and how much to pack for C. The weather where we are moving is warmer, but more unpredictable. It's been 3 years since I lived there... so Im having a hard time judging so Im going to have to pack stuff to layer, as a precaution.

So. If you had to live out of a suitcase(s) for possibly up to 2 months, what would you pack and how much of it would you pack? My DD is 2, so we dont need burp cloths/bibs/bottles/etc.
