We pay ours (normally $12/hour) $100 per night...this covers a 24 hour period.

Any activities/meals we cover on top of that.

For reference - this is a 40 year old woman who has 20 years daycare experience.

I would say offer the hourly for awake hours and then 1/2 for sleeping hours. Plus money for takeout for dinner. But that assumes your 7 month old sleeps through the night. If you're expecting the sitter to do night wakings, I think the hourly is fair.

I did this a few times and now I'm struggling to remember the flat rate. 250, maybe?

I would offer a flat rate. $250/300 plus $ for food/activities?

My hubs has a big birthday next month and we're planning on going on a two days/one night trip without the kids (DS is 3 and DD is 7 mo). This will be our first time going somewhere without them. We don't have any family nearby so I was planning on having our babysitter watch them.

How much do I pay her? We normally pay $20/hr for babysitting, but that rate is ridiculous for two days and overnight.
