We're not super close to her and she sits maybe once a month for us. As a nanny, most of my employers never bothered to do anything for me at Christmas, so I definitely wouldn't expect it as a babysitter, even a frequent one. The sitters all live very close by. I usually pay these sitters $10-12/hr for about 2 hrs - so $20-25 per night, 2x a week. If LO is sick or crabby, I pay more like $30 for the 2 hrs. One sitter has come a little more regularly than the others and even brought my LO a birthday present the other day.</p> <p>Tonight is the last time I will see this sitter before the holidays... what should I give her in addition to her $25 for the 2 hrs? I was thinking I'd give her a Target gift card, but not sure of the amount? $10? $20? $30? More? </p>
