We usually take one or two "big" vacations a year and lots of little 2 or 3 day trips as well. The big vacation is usually 1 back home to the states and then 1 somewhere relaxing, last time was Maldives. We love travelling and use every opportunity to take a vacation. </p> <p>We were very lucky in travel in 2011. My husband has crohns, so all his days are used for sick days. He had surgery though so hopefully that will change. Once a year we would travel to the US for two weeks, to a destination for two weeks and use the other week for buffer on weekend trips.</p> <p>In 2011, with our son, we flew to the US twice for a total of 5 weeks and I went with DS to Italy for a week on the beach. I wanted to go to London this month, but we couldn't get tickets for the DaVinci exhibit, so we kind of forgot about it. It was so easy to zip around for long weekends there. Now my son is quite difficult on flights plus we have our second kid, so our traveling might slow down a little. We still fly to NY often to visit family but that's not really vacation traveling.
