We weren't back up to birth weight by 2w and were put on a failure to thrive watch, which was very stressful. If I recall, the guidelines for breastfed babies is an ounce a day at that point. I believe it's a little more for FF. Sounds like your little one is right on track and perfectly healthy. Congratulations!

DS was born 10lbs. 9oz. He dropped 8oz in the first two days, before he started putting weight back on. At his 2 week appointment, he weighed 11lbs. 4oz.

It sounds like your LO is right on track. Watch for his cues and just feed him when he's hungry. You really can't over feed a newborn.

LO was born at 6lbs. 11oz. She lost one ounce in the hospital. At one week she weighed 6lbs. 14oz. At two weeks she was 7lbs. 11 oz.! The doctor assured us it was normal and all that cluster feeding she had been doing made sense.

DS was born at 6lbs 9oz, left the hospital 2 days later at 6lbs 3oz. We had milk supply / nipple shield issues and he was 6lbs 2oz at 12 days. Once we started bottle / tube feeding and supplementing when needed he started gaining weight like crazy...up at 1 lb a week!

LO lost a LOT of weight...

She was born 7lbs, 6 oz...And almost lost an entire pound by the time she was 4 days old (my milk hadn't come in, and she didn't latch). At the two-week mark, she was finally back to her birth weight!

When DS was born he weighed 7lb 12oz. When we left the hospital he was at 7lb 4oz. At his first doctors appointment last Tuesday he was 7lb 6oz. Yesterday he had his 2 week weight check and weighed in at 8lb 4oz! I thought it was a lot of weight to gain in a week, but the nurse and doctor said he's fine with what he gained. I asked if we were over feeding him(he gets 2 1/2-3oz every 3 hrs or so) the nurse said its hard to over feed them at this age because they'll just spit up what they don't want and he's not spitting up his formula.

I'm just probably being a crazy person, but usually I hear moms worry about how much weight their LO isn't gaining and I'm worried about the opposite. Is this a fairly normal weight gain for 2 weeks? (BTW, they didn't measure him, so im not sure of his length to see if he grew that way)
