I am pretty small and only gained about 5 lbs at 20 weeks and 18lbs overall. I measured small the whole time, had weekly ultrasounds on account of it and had a normal 7.5 lb baby!

I wouldn't worry! At 20 weeks, I had only gained back what I lost during the first trimester due to morning sickness. My doctor didn't worry-I didn't gain that much weight overall, but baby was born big and healthy!

I was only up 3lbs at 20 weeks. I think I lost weight during first tri thanks to MS. I wouldn't be worried though, as long as your doctor isn't concerned!

Don't worry too much. I lost 12 lbs in the first trimester/early second due to MS, so was still below pre-pregnancy weight and only ended up gaining 14 over my starting weight my entire pregnancy.

I can't remember exactly where I was at 20 weeks, but I don't think it was more than 5 or 6 pounds up. I only gained about 20 pounds the whole pregnancy (I was so worried about this the whole time, but my doctor reminded me that everyone gains differently).

Both of my pregnancies I've been so sick until 22 weeks that I didn't gain until just after that. My first was a healthy 6lb 11 oz, and things are measuring on track so far with #2.

I wouldn't worry. As long as you're eating well, and measuring relatively on track, you're totally fine. I only gained 18 pounds and went to 42 weeks. By 20 weeks, I don't think I had gained very much, at all. Most of my weight gain occurred in the third trimester.

I'd only put on a kilo. Even at almost 30 weeks, I'm only five kilos (like 12 lbs?) up on my pre-pregnancy weight and my midwife is not concerned at all. She says that as long as fundal height keeps growing, baby is getting what he/she needs.

@Beyond2: I was only up maybe 3 lbs at my 20 week appt, but had a HUGE growth spurt before my 24 last week--which my doc said was common-- and now am up 10. Could have been Thanksgiving, or my newfound insatiable hunger, but I"m going with growth spurt :)

With my first, I lost 12 lbs in the first trimester. At 20 weeks I'm sure I was below my pre-pregnancy weight. LO was a big baby and was born at 40 weeks, so don't stress. My second and third trimester I did steadily gain (because I was finally able to keep down food)!!

I'm pregnant again and at 20 weeks I think I had gained 3 lbs.

Don't stress too much. Focus on eating healthy foods and eating when you are hungry and you'll be fine.

I gained 10 pounds by 20 weeks, but I had very mild morning sickness, snacked more, and was on the lower end of normal for BMI starting out (5'3" and 109lbs). Don't worry-- I think it's normal to put on the majority of your weight in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters!

At my last appointment weigh in, just shy of 20 weeks, I was only up 2 lbs from my 6 week appointment, which is still less than I weighed before getting pregnant. And I only gained at all after 16 weeks--before I was losing weight. My doctor hasn't said a word about my weight yet, so I'm trying not to think about it, haha.

I asked a similar question awhile back and got more answers too, if you want more to read more responses! :) http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-you-lost-or-maintained-your-weight-during-the-first-trimester

I'm 18 wks and up about 5 pounds. My doctor doesn't believe weigh-ins are necessary, so the only reason I know this is I stepped on a scale recently with my LO to assess how much weight SHE had gained recently. :)

Currently my bump looks drastically different depending on the time of day (it gets massively bigger after lunch!) I didn't lose any weight from morning sickness, so if you're trying to stage a comeback from being ill in the first trimester, it's easy to see how you might not have gained much at all.. Like others have said... try not to stress. :)

Same!! I'm at 19w3d and down 5 lbs from bfp date (down 2 lbs according to doc bc they go based on 8week weight as first weight). I'm also barely showing.

I asked my doc about this at my last appt (16w5d) and she said I was eating well so she had absolutely no concerns. I also had my anatomy scan at 18w1d and
baby measured perfectly on target for size and weight.

I wouldn't worry too much by 20 weeks I was down 4 or 5 pounds and during the first trimester and most of the second I didn't really gain weight and baby was fine and right on point to the day and now I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow I have only gained like 6-7 pounds so I'm up 2 pounds my prepregnancy weight and my MW is no where near concerned in fact at my last appt last week she was telling me how good I was doing with the whole pregnancy and weight thing and said she was proud so no worries mama as long as baby is growing your weight doesn't matter.

I am in the same boat with you. Although I am nearly 27 weeks now and am up like 4 maybe 5 pounds (could be from the thanksgiving holiday). My doctor is not concerned at all, plus this happened with my first pregnancy as well. I never really gained any weight last time. I lost 30 pounds in the beginning and only gained 10 of that 30 back the whole pregnancy. Some people are just like that. :)
