I was just reading the boards and saw this but had no recollection of writing it! Then I got the email ding that there was a reply :)

If I could give advice to the me who had a 7 month old it would be don't worry about it. She'll eat more once she has her pincer grasp down pat around 10 months. Feed her puffs now since they're easy to pick up, and pouches because she can (kind of) help hold them!
@FaithFertility: hope that helps!

OK, thanks you guys this is making me feel a lot better. I was worried that my combined laziness/anxiety was getting in the way of feeding her like I was supposed to be doing! I am going to start offering some of my oatmeal in the morning and I may buy a few pouches to keep on hand just in case she starts getting interested. Right now she's all about the boob.

LO is also 7 months. Typically we nurse in the morning and then I offer him some of my steel cut oatmeal. He might take a few spoonfuls, he might not. He also will eat a few blueberries or banana chunks - if he feels like it. Sometimes he is just totally not interested. At night we also offer him 1-2 fruits or veggies to try and sometimes he is interested, sometimes not. He still drinks a lot of pumped milk throughout the day!

I was offering DS solids 1-2x/day but still offering the breast as often as before... I don't think they really take on enough solids at that age to impact their milk feeds!

I offered solids 30 mins-1 hour after nursing so like others said he wouldn't "fill up" on solids.

At 7 months, Xander was just getting into solids, so we were only feeding him once a day after nursing or his bottle, so he wasn't eating very much.

6.5 months and we feed him once a day. It is my understanding that food before one is just for fun. I worry about him filling up on food and it impacting his milk demand (this has happened before), hence why we only do it once.

At that age, I did oatmeal for breakfast (about an hour after his bottle). I never measured it, just estimated. Then for lunch I did purées. Once I again I don't measure. I just fed until no longer interested. He'll turn his head or push it away if he no longer wants any. I don't think we were doing dinner yet.

We've just started solids within the last month, and I'm wondering how much and how often I should be feeding my LO. We did BLW at first, and I'm still interested in that philosophy, but the gagging is stressful and I'm not opposed to spoon feeding purées.

Right now we're doing a few small bites of mashed banana or avocado on most days. She doesn't seem terribly interested (more interested in chewing on the spoon). I'm thinking of trying some brown rice cereal or baby oatmeal.

LO is in daycare 2 days a week and grandma care 3 days a week. She is often overtired and cranky in the afternoons and goes to bed pretty early (6:30/7), so we don't have much time with her on weekdays. She's still EBF (pumped milk during the day).
