I would ask why they want three meals a day. Is she low weight? What constitutes a meal according to them?

At 8 months, we started giving LO 3 meals a day. We give him the solids before the BM so he is drinking less BM now.

I actually think she's fine with breakfast, a few snacks at lunch and dinner with us. She loves solids but still loves her BM too. I try to do a lot of finger foods so she can stop when she wants. I'm not going to push a full lunch. I'll wait until she seems more hungry.

@Xnlb41084: do you feel like your baby wants more solids? Obviously if she is starving for solids I wouldn't with hold it. ;) I know a lot of kids who are definitely already on solids 3x a day by now....but we personally feel like it's a lot of calories through solids.

Thanks so much! Maybe I'll wait a bit then. It seems like a lot for her to be eating.

DD2 is 8.5m and I feed her solids 1-2x a day. Definitely always dinner with us. But I might feed her breakfast and I might not. She'll usually get a small snack while we're eating lunch. She is still EBF and I just don't think all the extra solids is necessary to push on her. I've been following her cues on how much food to offer.

DD1 never decreased her bottle intake until we switched to WCM. I *think* we went to solids 3x a day sometime around 10-11m?

My daughter will be 9 months next week. I'm a little confused about feeding her. She currently eats solids twice a day. Her pedi wants her eating 3 meals/day by 9 months. She currently receives breastmilk in 3 bottles/day while my mom watches her. She nurses with me morning and night. Right now she is having a bottle every 3 hours. Should I increase to every 4 hours? Every 9 month schedule I see shows only 4 feedings/day, not 5 like we're still doing. I asked a lactation consultant and she said DD would decrease the number of ounces on her own. How is she supposed to do that when she's given a bottle?! I don't want to waste any BM! Yesterday she seemed really full. She got 4 oz three times and 2 meals + snacks (2-3 ounces/meal, puffs, mini muffins, s. potato fries, teething toast). She was getting 5 oz per feeding but I cut it back an ounce. Any guidance would be very much appreciated!
