@Foodnerd81: I didn't drop trou until 35 weeks (except for an early dating ultrasound since my cycle was super long), which is when I got the strep swab and my first cervical check. Weekly cervical checks from then on (which I don't mind at all, but I HATED the strep swab--felt gross).

I'm 19 weeks so just monthly for me. I think mine switch to every 2 weeks at 28 weeks.

Mine are monthly and I forget when they go to every other week!

@Foodnerd81: I have a midwife as well and only had a pelvic at the very first appointment at 8 weeks. Starting at 21 weeks she has started fundal measurements but that's about as invasive as it's been! What a relief!

Mine are basically monthly in the first trimester, every two weeks in the second and every week in the third. I could be slightly wrong since I have it written down at home. I got to a high risk Dr. which might mean I go in more often.

@hergreenapples: I'm with a midwife too, and I think they are pretty low intervention in general (not that an exam is an intervention, per se) so that's sort of what I was thinking. They also didn't think a dating ultrasound was necessary just because I wanted to see it (they were right, I was dead sure on my dates, I just wanted a peak).

@Foodnerd81: Depends on your care provider and your own personal preferences. A lot will start doing cervical checks when you get toward the very end.

I'm with a midwife and they don't do any checks until you're in labour unless you request them.

I'm weekly right now since I'm high risk. I might get bumped back up to two weeks but they won't let me stay away longer than that.

@Foodnerd81: hm. Interesting. I had a pap & cervix check (or whatever else they do in there lol) at my first prenatal and so now I wonder if I'll have any more??

I started bi-weekly at 28. I'm at 34 now, (I just had one monday) and after my 36 weeker, I go ever week!

Actually, I have 2 appointments at 36 weeks, cause I have to go see the back up OB for my birth center to get the green light to give birth at the birth center.

@Foodnerd81: I was wondering the same thing! I've only had pee-in-a-cup and ask questions appts since the first ultrasound. I think my next one at 20 weeks will be more invasive, because she said something about checking my cervix, plus it's a gender ultrasound (YAY)

Oh, and they are monthly right now :)

Mine are monthly now. I think it switches to every 2 weeks around 35 weeks too.

If I can add a related question-- do you ever have actual pelvic exams during any prenatal checks? I sort of assumed I would, but since I had a Pap shortly before my BFP, I've never even had to take my pants off yet, just blood work, urine sample, blood pressure, questions. Should I assume I won't be having any checks for a long time? 15 weeks now, so only 2 prenatal appts so far.
