I try to get out for at least an hour over the weekends to get a massage, but it doesn't happen every weekend. If I'm not feeling well DH will take LO with him to the store or to get food or something. It's more likely he'll take her somewhere because I'm a SAHM so he likes to give me a break over the weekend.

Pretty often. But usually when one is at home or a parents house. Adventuring out in the world with two and alone is not something we are both ready for. Haha

We do all the time.
This weekend was pretty typical; we hung out together in the mornings and for dinner/evenings, but for about 5 hours on Saturday afternoon DH took LO to a coworker's BBQ, and for all of Sunday afternoon I took LO to the pool with my sister.

@Andrea We're the same- DH takes LO out with him way more often than I do. He'll take LO along to run all his errands on the weekends.

Well, I left LO alone with the hubs all day (from noon until after her bedtime) and it felt very strange for me. But to have hubs go away for a few days wouldn't feel any different to me only because of his busy work schedule it isn't a rarity for him to miss seeing LO in the mornings or evenings.

oh, but if it's leaving the spouse for just one meal out or coffee or something, we do that pretty regularly. but we don't have two kids (yet)...

what perfect timing for this post. my hubs just left for a 2-day trip to san diego with his 3 best guy friends! so it's just me and my girl this weekend.

usually, we are fine leaving the other for one whole day with our LO, but it's rare that we'd take off for more than a day. that way we each get our respective girl and guy time. 2 weekends ago i spent all day at a day spa with my girlfriends while hubs was on baby duty all saturday. i came back rejuvenated, and a better mom and wife.

I would say probably at least once a weekend. He might take off to the driving range for an hour or so, and I might run an errand or two without LO. He's golfed this weekend and last weekend and I'm waiting for a good beach day and I'll leave him with LO. We both think that some "alone" time is good and he feels I deserve it as much as he does, and of course I do. That being said, we both opted to stay in last night when we could have gotten a babysitter and gone to dinner with some friends. I could have gone on my own, but I missed DH. Even though we see each other during the week, it's not quality time and we needed some "us" time. Our LO at this point is really well behaved so she doesn't hamper it at all.

I try to let the mister go and do something on his own during the weekend, at least for an hour or two. He always comes back so refreshed! Next weekend he's going on a boys camping trip with all his buddies. I don't know how I'm going to do 3 days all by myself... Seriously, I might die!

Related: even though I have lived in the city for 5 years now and have dealt with countless roaches (and mice and bedbugs, for that matter) for some reason recently I am just OVER IT. My husband just got a job in Connecticut and so it makes a lot of sense for us to move there and avoid having him do a horrific commute, but even so, as much as I love the city one of my top things in my list of "pros" for a move is the potential to not have to deal with roaches anymore. I hate them so much.

DH works 3 weekends a month so it is very common. Can't wait for him to climb the seniority ladder!

Since my husband works long hours and I"m home with the baby all week, I usually meet my friends for brunch on Saturdays. Occasionally I'll bring LO with me, but I usually don't since I'm the only one of my friends with a child. Today I left her with my husband while I went to mass, but he was pretty okay with that, being the non-religious type that he is!

It's pretty rare that Bee or I will leave the other with the kids. The last few weekends I've gone out to coffee with a friend while Charlie's sleeping... it feels weird to me though. Even though Charlie is sleeping, Olive is still awake after all.
