However, I am more social so I was able to befriend his friends' wives very easily but he is still somewhat shy, reserved around my friends. We are basically one of the last couples to start a family between both of our friends due to TTC issues so everyone has even very kind and supportive. Their friendships are what helped us through these many years so I promised myself I would never neglect my friends and make a conscious effort to keep in touch. So we have been able to meet with friends every other week. Sometimes we take turns watching baby and the other person goes solo. But if it's a good day for her like she's napped well, we take her with us. It works for us. DH sees a few friends at the gym and I see a few at work/daycare. Then, occasionally, I will go out with friend after bedtime, or he will, but it's really rare that we get to go out together. We don't have a great babysitting system. I would say once every couple of months we get out to dinner and bring LO. DH's friends are mostly work friends and they do happy hours or something similar maybe once a month or so. As for couple friends? Not that often unfortunately. Maybe once every month or two. It really helps though that we have friends that live right around the corner from us and that we are in a bowling league with. Having a standing event on the calendar goes a long way.
