But not we have 3 and 2of them are infants. MIL lives with us and watches them when we work. (She watches the twins) so we feel really bad asking her to watch them at night and when we do go out we worry what happens if both babies are up at the same time crying and can never enjoy ourselves so then we try to bring someone in to watch and that just gets awkward with MIL there and someone else watching the kids, so we just give up. It sucks but we try. We used to go out a lot more before we became parents. Money is a factor, we worried much less when we had less responsibilities. We also have only left him with family and everyone is busy it can be hard to coordinate schedules. We live away from family (military life!) so we usually only go out when we have family visiting, we also have a 9mo so going out on our own has really only become an option again over the last little while. When we see my parents they are happy to babysit, so we do that may 3 or 4 times a year. We do have a local babysitter too, that we use every few months, though we haven't used her since October due to all the holidays. Prior to having kids we never really went on many dates either. I think we're just home bodies and enjoy relaxing at home much more. We get about 1-2 hours a night by ourselves after the kids are asleep which is good enough for us. we don't feel like we're missing out by not going out on dates more. eta- we've been together since high school so almost 15 years.. maybe thats part of the reason why we don't really go on dates anymore? We moved into a house last May and behind us lives a house with 6 daughters! And they are super nice and wonderful-- we use the 15 year old, but if she isn't available we have backups. @rachiecakes- totally creep-ing, but we live outside Boston (DH and I work in the city) and have a 4 year old, I'll babysit for you!
