Not often enough! I just recently noticed that our farm animal squeeze toys were disgusting and moldy and I chucked them all. I was so grossed out when I realized.... #badmom

My kid has 2 little buckets, a watering can, a peri bottle, and 3 little boats. That's it, and it's all she's ever had for the tub. She seems pretty happy with it, and I enjoy not having too much clutter.

My baby just received a bath toy as a party favor over the weekend - a little unicorn bath toy! I think its an ingenious party favor.

Rarely. We have quite a collection, but most of them are years old (from when DS1 was little). We have a couple for pouring, foam letters/numbers, and a few wind-up "swimming" toys/boats. I take out a few at a time and let the kids play, but I do wash them regularly and throw them out when they get too icky or start falling apart. I really don't like (and don't keep) "squirters" because they aren't easily cleanable.

I tossed out her entire stash at once when I realized they were retaining water and growing mold, and replaced them with open toys like plastic cups and toys with a really big hole at the bottom so all the water can drain out. Since then, I haven't added any more. I don't see us getting any new ones any time soon. DD is completely absorbed by pouring water back and forth between the two cups.

I bought bath toys at first, I admit! We were gifted a set that you could attach to the wall, one was a little gear, there was a little spout thing, etc. Another set I bought was a train track where you could shoot an engine down a ramp. Then we had a watering can, a boat, etc. Also those rubber animals that squirt water.

Then we had bath crayons and bath paints. My son loved those.

Eventually, it became cars, cups, a paintbrush and a turkey baster (lol) in the bath.

We had been using the same ones since he was born until about a month ago. So every 10 months. The next bath toys I plan to get are the spongy letters or shapes that stick to the tub. My LO likes to play with the natural sponge, so I am not really in a rush to buy more toys.

I don't think I've bought any since he was born! DS is two now. Someone gave us a Sophie the giraffe bath toy and it doesn't have a holes in it so it never gets yucky and dries really well. We also have the Sophie bath book which has held up well... Sometimes it gets a little slimy but we just give it a wipe and so far no mould. He sometimes also takes his schleich animals in the bath too.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I have never bought any. We got a set at the baby shower and my DS (16 months) is still playing with those. But we are actually moving this weekend and I think I will toss them because they are the kind that can hold water and I don't know if they are totally mold-free. Ew. I am also totally the person that cut our Sophie in half when that story about the mold went viral!!

Not often at all. I bought some this past Christmas as a stocking stuffer but prior to that was 3 years ago. My kids mostly like filling up bottles and dumping them out so we figured there is no point to buying special bath toys. I bought a net this Christmas because I thought that might be fun but they play with it outside the tub and stick with bottles during their baths.

@LemonJack: @maddyz: Green Toys brand makes bath toys that you can take apart and put in the dishwasher. Actually their normal out-of-bath toys are dishwasher safe too. I loooove them!

I rarely buy them. I mostly just have cups and other things we can throw in the dishwasher though, so no worries about mold. I have gone through and tossed the ones that can get moldy occasionally.

We probably replace ours every 3-4 months. I am constantly checking them to see if they get yucky in the middle and I toss the whole set at the first sign of mold and then I bleach scrub the basket they live in. My kiddo ingests too much bath water for me to risk moldy bath toys.

I feel like I have to start tossing (or they just go missing) bath toys within 3 to 6 months of getting them! Am I crazy? Does anyone else have a constantly dwindling bath toy supply?
