I wanted it to look more like art work so I picked a shot that wasn't just our faces. I love it. We've done photo shoots when each boy was about 4 months so soon I want to print pictures from each of those shots and start a gallery wall. I think with kids it is tempting to keep printing new pictures, that's why I'm sticking with our first baby pictures for each kid for now but leaving space for smaller additions. I'm thinking I should replace some of the big frames on my gallery wall with smaller frames so I can get more variety. Otherwise I replace the photos each year and the old photos have no where to go. So we've never done one. Instead I use a high-quality print service to do 8x10 (and some smaller) prints and put them in pretty matted frames that I hang around the house. I have hung galleries using DSLR photos we took on most of our big vacations, and we have two big galleries combining a smattering of professional photos over the years (engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn hospital shoot, 6-month family shoot). They're gorgeous and I love looking at them and the cutest thing is DD always wanting to look at them and point and name who's in them. I think we'll switch them out at the end of next year... (And what of?) I have one canvas engagement photo (gifted) and one canvas wedding photo. I just won a metal print on barnwood that I think I will use for another wedding photo. I'd like some of the kids/family but worry they won't have the longevity?
