My MIL works at a library and occasionally gifts us the library rejects or donated books they decide not to use. While we love to go to the library, we don't go very often, maybe once a month.</p> <p>Not sure if anyone else's library does this, but they stock a used book section and we always check that when we stop by. I can order popular books in paperback versions for sometimes as low as $1 or $2 each. They also sometimes send home coupons so I get $5 off of $10 and the with cheap books, I don't need to feel too guilty. In each of my big sterilite bins of holiday decor/"stuff", I have a collection of seasonally appropriate books which I add to each year. We have a big collection and we make extensive use of the library, but sometimes I find a title that I really want that they don't have. And sometimes I buy books that they do have, but we really love and I feel like we "need." ;) Christmas books fall into that category--we have way more of them than is reasonable, but I'm not willing to wait until February when someone else has finally returned my favorites! It has been a few months though since I've bought them any, last year was a lot of books from book orders. I just went through and cleared out a lot of "baby" books, so I'm excited to add new ones to our collection. Downside is books are so expensive! I haven't been finding any good used ones lately. </p>
