We didn't receive a lot of books at my showers. Reading a couple of board books to him before nap and bedtime has become an integral part of our sleep routine. The other day, I bought some more Sandra Boynton board books. I also have a bunch of books my mom gave me during our last visit there from her kindergarten library. Nearly all the toys/books he's received we're from baby showers, Christmas and his birthday. I bought him books once: hit up a thrift store and bought 20 books. And we bought him toys once when he was 7 months old because he's outgrown all his infant toys. Right now, she's just as happy playing with household objects as she is with any of her toys anyway, and I can't handle the clutter tons of toys create. Books, on the other hand, are a total weakness for me. We probably average 3 or 4 books each month.
