We have had our nanny for a year and I trust her completely, so I really rarely check in. She texts me pictures sometimes, which is nice... but the reality is that she isn't the type of person to call or text me unless there was an emergency. The first week or two I called once per day to check in. But I am trying to do my job on a somewhat compressed scheduled so that I can spend more time with my baby, and sometimes I just have too many back-to-back meetings. So, I don't always call. Am I a horrible mother?! Note that I work from home two days per week while the nanny is there, and my parents take the afternoon shift on two other days per week.
