Lately it feels like we have been so busy on weekends that I don't have the time or energy to cook. If we're at home, we will throw something together. Otherwise, we grab food to eat when we're out. The kids always have a packed meal (food allergies).

We usually eat out for lunch and/or dinner at least once each weekend. I'm so over cooking by that point and I just want to sit down and eat without worrying about prep or clean up.

Saturday is the same as a weekday for us unless DH is off work. Then we will sometimes cook brunch or go out for one meal. Sunday we usually do a big cooked breakfast and sandwiches or leftovers for lunch. Dinner is at my parents'. If you get burned out could you try making your Tuesday and Wednesday meals ones that are easy to double and freeze then pulling them out over the weekend? When we are going to be on the go I try to pack leftovers. Pasta salad, cold grilled chicken, watermelon, etc. Easy, kid friendly, packable.

I always make my own breakfast (just oatmeal or toast). DH always only eats protein bars for bfast. We always "make" LO's breakfast (she eats a toasted frozen waffle or yogurt... no big deal there). That's every day, not just weekends.

On Friday nights I usually plan to do homemade pizza or something else that will give us leftovers. DH and I eat leftovers for lunch Saturday and we make something for LO. Saturday nights we usually get some sort of take-out after LO is in bed. Sundays we do our usual breakfast thing. We make LO a normal lunch. We usually eat a small snack while LO is napping, then when she gets up from her nap (around 3 or 4) we go out to eat for a late lunch/early dinner (which is fine for the rest of the day for DH and I. I do then give LO a snack around her normal dinner time before bed).

I do not cook dinner on weekends unless we have company. I hate hate hate cooking and being a SAHM my weekend isn't really THAT much different from the work week, so not cooking dinners is a luxury on weekends I cling to :)

(Also, I realize this schedule is easier for us because our LO is only 15 mo so she doesn't know/care that she eats different food than us all weekend).

Almost always. Going out to eat/ordering take out is a hassle and expensive. We have bigger breakfast, though--bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc.....and grill dinner, typically. Oh, we also have more luxurious dinners that i might not otherwise have time to make during the week. Nice baked chickens or a roast of some kind....nom nom.

We usually eat out Friday night. Eat in Saturday morning. Eat in or out Sat night. Go to a fave spot for breakfast every Sunday and eat in Sunday night. So it's an even split.

We do take-out (pizza or Chinese) every other Friday night or so, and usually go out to breakfast one weekend morning, but D works second shift and is pretty much never able to eat dinner with us during the week so we try to make a point to sit down at home together for weekend meals. Plus I find it esaier to do since he can distract E will I cook :)

Almost always. Friday is our take out night and we try hard to only do take out on Fridays. Maybe once a month max we'll go out for brunch. DH enjoys cooking and is very good at it and weekends are usually when he has time. So on the weekends we usually have fun in the kitchen. We blast music, bring the learning tower out and make it a family affair!

We are terrible on the weekends. We typically grab breakfast on Sat or Sunday, eat out every Saturday night, and sometimes Sunday at lunch. It is one item in the budget that will change drastically when baby arrives.

Going off the dinner menu spread, how often do you cook on the weekends? I'm really good about preparing meals during the week (breakfast/lunch/dinner) but I don't like cooking very much so by the time the weekend hits I'm done. DH doesn't cook so this usually results in us eating out or ordering in Sat & Sun (sometimes even Friday night), especially since we like to go out on the weekends and we'll usually grab something to eat while out. I do try to prepare the kids' food at least but I would say at least two out of the six meals for them is purchased. This past weekend, we spent close to $150 eating out for a family of four!! This is a lot more than the usual average but that number just boggled me and made me realize some things need to change. And fast! How do you tackle weekend meals if you don't like to cook, and are usually on the go?

Also, just a side note that while I would love it if my husband was a great cook he isn't and I am okay with that. Especially since I'm not either! Since he doesn't get to see the kids much, I prefer they get to spend time with him while I prepare dinner (also a nice break for me!) and he's great with so much else around the house. He's tried preparing a meal here and there and it either takes forever or is so heavy I'd prefer cooking a healthier meal for us.
