It's more geared towards my job satisfaction and what my goals/wishes are for next steps, etc. It's very informal and just a good chance to talk to my boss 1 on 1 that we normally never have time to talk about! Compensation review is at a different time of year and I haven't had to request any meetings as they've been satisfactory raises. Lol. I work for family and am often encouraged and affirmed that I'm doing a good job. We communicate casually often about what needs done/how everything's going. We haven't had any major problems yet. Although, certainly not consistently, because I've been here a year and a half and I've gotten 1.5 reviews. The half was the most recent one, when my boss basically just said, "You're doing great, I have no complaints, do you have any questions for me?" And that was it. Those quarterly meetings are a little more informal and aren't documented for HR. We have a mid-year review, but that's just to review our objectives for the year and how we're doing and see if we need to tweak anything. The one in April is one that has potential for a raise and the one in October is strictly just review, no option for a raise. How often does your workplace do reviews?
