Right now, I've got a stuffy nose. I don't know if it's remnants of my husband's cold last week or something new or an early pregnancy symptom. I'm trying to avoid thinking about the last one because every time I think I'm pregnant, I'm not. My whole family was just sick ( hubby, mom, sil, brother ) and we see them all the time but thank goodness my lo and I didn't catch it. I do get migraines pretty often though. A different kind of sick. I always wash my hands and such, but I think my immune system has gone down a bit. I just got over a nasty cold myself. I lost my voice and everything. But younger I was sick ALOT. Now that Mavrick goes to day care Im sick every second month or so. Not fun! After, I tend to get little colds here and there when she has gotten sick but nothing too bad yet. I do get a ton of sleep so that definitely helps. This year, I've managed to avoid it, even though I had LO and DH sick with colds and an eye infection. That was a miracle, considering how many times I had to wipe snot noses. I am pretty strict about my vitamins and bed time. It lasts only a few days and almost always occurs with a lack of sleep and nutritious meals combo. But when I get a cold it lasts for weeks! This last time I couldn't take anything for the first time ever since I am pregnant. I was surprised that I got better faster when I didn't take anything. I currently have a cold and I get bronchitis on average every 2-3 months. It sucks, but I guess its to be expected while working with 20 four year olds everyday. I was so healthy before, but have been sick alot since having a child... Especially one in daycare/preschool. The worst was when our whole household got gastroenteritis (stomach flu) and the flu. I also got really sick once during my first pregnancy three times during my second pregnancy (including sinusitis). I never had these things before!! I have an immune system similar to a 4 year old. Since their is a real live 4 year old living in my house, him and I are always sniffling this time of year. We both got strep, the flu, and somehow at the same time ended up with sinus and double ear infections. It's miserable for DH. I consider myself fairly resistant to illnesses. I do usually have a cold each year but it's never enough for me not to go to work. Well, until this year... I got the flu about a week before I was due for my flu shot. I sometimes get one cold a year. Otherwise, I've been pretty lucky. I've never been to the ER or hospital my entire life. The worst I've ever been sick was a fever, food poisoning, or a bad cough. I had a pretty good immune system! After having kids I've been sick with 2 debilitating flus (that knocked out Charlie, me, Mr. Bee and our nanny), as well as a couple minor colds. In fact I'm battling a pretty bad cold right now. That's a lot of sickness in 2 years when I rarely used to get sick. How bout you? Do you get sick often?
